Or play really badly.
I think I cannot play the manipulator or the liar. Or the evil character, plainly. I just imagine there's too much clever talking to do and trying so hard to look evil, which makes me roll my eyes. I'd still like to try, but not as an alt. It seems like a type I'd have to exert a lot of effort in.
I've definitely played evil-aligned characters. I dunno. I guess I never manipulated a person that's why it's extremely hard for me lmao.

i'm really bad at overly manipulative characters bc lmao that's so much thinking and it's a bit difficult for me to do in an rp setting? characters who are just plain evil are pretty difficult for me to bc i try to see the best in everything so it's just hard to try and step away from that since it's so ingrained in me tbh i'm also bad at flirtatious characters of the sexual variety like i can play cheesy flirts 100% but if anything takes a turn towards sexual im out of the door faster than u can say nope. it just makes me so uncomfortable and stuff so yeah...............

maybe ill add more later

i was about to say i'm bad at manipulative chars too but i think i've actually played one to decent effect before?? "manipulative" wasn't really where i was going with them, but in retrospect, they kinda fit the bill. i relied a lot on hiding their intentions oocly though, so idk if it was more the char being manipulative or me being manipulative lmao. prolly both, thinking back.
i think i play flirts and charismatic characters really badly? i had a flirty char before, but i don't think i did them justice... most of my chars tend to be loser dorks who are bad at the romance, so chalk it up to inexperience or something. i don't think i'd feel confident writing a flirty/charismatic char, but i'm gonna give it a shot again sometime. gotta write all the things

Truly zany characters. The ones where you look at them and you think that they need either a mental asylum or some kind of ADHD medication. He/She is the guy that decides to have dreams about Russian playboy bunnies in the middle of a lingerie store and blow up the store in the dream with the words JUSTICE emblazoned across the scene of descending flaming panties. They're the person that screams at their car in a foreign language and then turns around and screams at the closest person in that same language for daring to move a part in the car that really didn't look like it should be there.. like a wrench. Basically I want to play SVEN but only SVEN can play SVEN.

I am simply dreadful at portraying characters who are not “goody two-shoes,” so to speak. Having assayed with only exiguous triumph, meek and mild figures remain my speciality.
Personal convictions stay me from writing non-heterosexual, non-cisgender beings. Mine are quite introverted, however, so they never completely suit most tomfool social stereotypes.
Historical fantasy has and shall always be my favored role-play genre. If a site’s lore states that humans are not playable, I'll press onward; elves and such are unequivocally redundant.

For some reason I have a really difficult time playing male characters. When I do play one, they have to have a certain angle or niche to them, but for some reason I always portray male characters in a negative light rather than a positive one and as a writer I feel bad that I have trouble portraying men in a positive light. As a whole I don't like guys, but I like them on an individual case-by-case basis and I'm attracted to them. I promise I'm not a crazy feminist either. It's not that I don't portray my females in a negative light either, but usually my female characters have a heroic aspect to them even if they're an antagonist in nature. I have more fun and understand women more, whereas when I play a man I've had guys say that my male characters think more like a woman than a man or that my male characters aren't really true to how guys are and that upsets me.
My last male characters that I actually kept and enjoyed playing were a super flirtatious and obnoxious teenage boy, an angry and cynical teenage boy, an ass hole business man, a mentally disturbed guy with amnesia, and a serial killer.
...I feel really bad towards actual men when I try to play them.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, of all the male characters that I have ever played, I also had a sister character that I played for them or created a female side character for them to make them more interesting for me even if the sister was an NPC. The serial killer is the only one who didn't have a female character made for him to balance him out, but rather he killed females so I just plotted with other players' females.
So even when I play male characters, they need a female crutch in order for me to write them.
I'm the worst writer ever. OTL

Gay males, I don't know why. I just.. I can't do it? Every time I've tried it's been an awkward time for me, and they're just never a good character? I can do Gay Females, and sometimes Bisexual Males but I can't do Gay Males for the life of me. I also am really really bad at unsympathetic/Uncaring characters. (But that wont stop me!)

Flirtatious female characters, unless they are super bitchy and evil! Like, I can not play a random flirtatious character normally. I get so bored by them and automatically label them as a slut in my head and they die a day later! No... can't do flirtatious UNLESS she is the most evil female in the world who has a zillion enemies and wants to kill half of the people that she meets. She would be the kind of character to kick someone while they are down... then maybe, she can be a little flirtatious.
