Someone told me about it and I caught up with the aired episodes so far and just caught up with the manga.
I just want to know who else loves this. I'm not really into all the destruction and gore (the first episode scared the shit out of me but I eventually got used to the Titans thank goodness) so the appeal was definitely the intriguing mystery and plot. Initially I thought the characters were gonna be flat but that completely changed pretty fast.
The series really impressed me beyond by how it should. There's a rolling theme that makes the plot flow naturally. I just appreciate anime/manga like this that doesn't press on too much on random angst and humor which I annoyingly find everywhere in manga these days. I don't think the setting (especially the way the small population of humanity somehow manages to survive) realistic per se but it's convincingly realistic and I like it.
It's not my favorite series not because it's not amazing but because of personal preference. Doesn't stop me from seeing how good this is though.
It would be crazy if there was an RP of this. Too crazy I don't think I'd join lol

EREEEEEEEN Really though, I haven't been able to sit through an anime in a long time but I caught up on the manga a while back and it's honestly pretty good. It's not amazing but there's something about it that makes me like it a lot.
And reading it at three am when there's SUDDENLY, CLOSE-UP FACE-SHOT OF TITAN freaked me out in the beginning, but I got used to it? Attack on Titan kind of reminds me of Claymore, in a way, and I'm actually a big fan of Claymore so that was probably another bonus.
Lol this probably made no sense but whatever. (And I agree on the rp of Attack on Titan, that'd just be kind of insane.)

Really though, I haven't been able to sit through an anime in a long time but I caught up on the manga a while back and it's honestly pretty good. Exactly. For a couple of months, I haven't been into anime/manga because I feel all the good stuffs have all been dried up. I'd also like to add that the character design fits nicely with the setting. Doesn't clash with the scariness with ugly moe eyes speaking of moe eyes, hahahaha the moe giant.I've actually been watching Valvrave. They're as different as an orange and apple lol. I don't think there's any way to say which of the two is better except with how memorable it would be. Valvrave's kind is something that I feel has been done and will be done again in the future. Shingeki no Kyojin's take on giants is not something out there in the shounen category these days. I KNOW YOU'RE JOKING BUT I'M GIVING A LEGIT REASON ON WHAT I FEEL ON THE TWO. I'm still sad you didn't keep your end of the bargain and watched Terra E.

I hear the 3d whosawhatsit looks a lot better animated? I read the manga because you can't skip through anime episodes, and I like the fact that the manga is ahead but the anime is pretty good. I watched the first episode and I was pretty impressed with the animation. (I tell the people I know to read the manga because I can't discuss Attack on Titan with them without spoiling everything oops.) and Doesn't clash with the scariness with ugly moe eyes speaking of moe eyes, hahahaha the moe giant.hahahahaaa fuck

Basically the youtube opening that was linked and what Sol said. The anime is intense. I'll continue watching the anime because it's even more fun seeing it get animated. Just look at the opening. They have the best jump shots.

I actually haven't seen any of the anime episodes yet. I've only read the manga and let me tell you, the manga is fucking terrifying. I keep putting off watching it b/c if I'm frightened to see people get eaten in still black and white panels - holy shit i'm going to scream seeing it in moving color
you guys' comments are totally not improving my motivation *^*

I think when you get past episode 1, it's relatively safe. Everything else is mostly off-screen after that thankfully.
