- being followed by someone (ikr paranoid)
- freaking bugs ugh & spiders o.O
- static
- being around crowds (only strangers or passerbys)
- seafoods (I was almost hospitalized that I ate my very first Crab, when I was 6 years old. It was horrible.. Apparently, I had allergies and never dared to anything except for fish.)

I don't do well with open spaces- not in front of me, but behind me. Like, I must have my back against the wall at all times. People look at me weird 'cause I always go for the spot in the corner and they think I'm antisocial. I'm not, I just... have to see what's going on around me or else I get paranoid someone's sneaking up. Not really enough for a mental breakdown, but I get all jumpy and look over my shoulder every five seconds.
And if someone actually does sneak up behind me I do not deal well. >.<

>> zero you'd do so bad at my house literally all the time we sneak up on each other and freak the crap out of one another particularly late at night when it's dark. Unless you're wearing shoes and then you can hear us coming but it's literally a sneakathon in my house. xD

i find that my phobias come and go so i'm not sure if they really count?
when i was really young i watched this episode of spongebob where spongebob is waiting for a bus to take him up the side of this 90 degree cliff but he's really hungry and every time he sneaks away to get something from the vending machine the bus drives up and leaves before he makes it back to the bus stop. later that night i had a nightmare that i was trying to climb up the side of a really steep hill but eventually it got too steep and i just fell off the side and died.
so then for a long time during my childhood i was afraid of really steep hills lol
then maybe a couple years ago i was leisurely riding a bike through the streets late at night with my two friends and we encountered a drunk driver who was sort of idling in the middle of the street before suddenly reversing in crazy swerves before stopping again and starting to drive slowly forward. maybe they were just trying to freak us out but i was pretty stoned so i basically convinced myself i was going to die until they drove off.
after that i had this odd phobia of cars where crossing the street i would get panicked and really hurry across cause i felt like all the cars were speeding up, or sometimes when they got close that they would swerve to deliberately hit me even if i was on the sidewalk. i guess i grew out of it though since neither of those things ever ended up happening.
i am totally fine with needles unless it's for an extended period of time and i actually really like bugs?? i think they are adorable... spiders too. i like to poke them when they're sitting in their webs so that they shake up their web and freak a little. it's hilarious they're just like "THE FUCK WAS THAT"

oh, I WATCHED THIS EPISODE OF MICKEY'S CLUBHOUSE, YOU KNOW THE OLD ONE WHERE ALL THE DISNEY CHARACTERS WOULD MEET UP RIGHT? AND THEY SHOWED A CARTOON OF DONALD FALLING ON AN UP ESCALATOR AND HE FELL FOREVER, AND HE KEPT HURTING HIMSELF. IT FELT LIKE IT WOULDN'T END. uh, that made me afraid of escalators for uh, 6-7 years like a paralyzing fear. I was afraid I was going to step on the wrong thing, like inbetween the steps and when i thought it was all find and dandy it would turn into a step and i'd fall and keep falling and keep falling and keep falling forever.
that one episode of jackie chan made me afraid of monster vampiric things.
cartoons kinda fucked up my childhood i guess

i used to have a p bad needle phobia but it's not as bad now. i also am phobic of bees and most bugs, mostly things like worms and caterpillars. i also am afraid of most sea creatures, especially weird shit like blobfish and one-eyed albino sharks (thats not a euphemism) and i really am terrified of the faces of sting rays. i also get scared when i see lobsters and crabs.
but uhhh my biggest phobia is of vomiting? seeing it, doing it...hearing it not so much, tho if i heard it in rl i'd freak out. i've gotten over hearing it really since it happens a lot in like himym. it has caused me to stay up at night while the thought of puking haunts me and i've had nightmares about it too. i also obviously can't see any puking in like movies so i basically can never go to the movies...which has caused me to get very high anxiety when i go to a theater, even if its to see something like an animated movie. i have to have people watch the movie before i go to make sure there's no puking and if there is and i think its worth it, they have to tell me when (if its in a theater) or mute and fast forward while i look away (if we're at home and its a dvd).
its horrible 8I and i hate explaining it because people think i'm weird. i also have an irrational fear that if i tell people they're gonna find it funny to show me pictures or vids of people puking...idk why anyone would do that but i know people who are asses like that.

I hate hate hate hate getting shots so much, especially in the vein. my ass is 20 and I almost cried the last time I had an intravenous shot.
also bees, but in that ever since I got stung by a bee 3 years back I've been having recurring nightmares about bee stings that I usually end up jerking awake from.

i don't know the actual scientific phobia that it has, but holes. small, holes - like dots as glass has mentioned - they freak me out. from ant holes in the ground, to holes in the snow where salt has melted through, anything with holes. i freak out, i cry, i break down, it's not even funny. if i could see the pores in my skin i would never open my eyes. i'm literally freaking out as i type this why am i sharing this. buttholes.

I have two very strange ones. Well, one strange one and one semi-normal one. And one very normal one.
I'm the opposite of a claustrophobic: I don't like wide, open spaces. I found this out when I was about eight and at camp, and we went hiking and stumbled upon... a meadow? Valley? Just this huge expanse of open land. It made me feel exposed and nervous. I know this sounds weird, but I personally like being squished. Except on public buses, then I'm all "GTFO THAT SEAT IN THE BACK IS STILL OPEN". I also feel the same way in houses and buildings with very high ceilings. I went to St. Patrick's Cathedral for a trip and started hyperventilating. Or maybe that was just Catholic guilt IDEK.
My semi-strange fear is... I am deathly afraid of my house being broken into and dying in the resulting break in. Whenever I'm home alone I constantly think about it. When it's late at night and everyone in my family is home I can't wait to lock every single door. This is because I had previous homes of mine invaded twice while I was there: the first time I was a baby, and my dad actually fought the thieves out of our apartment. The second was when I was in high school, home alone, and someone tried to break into the house. My dog scared them off but I was so freaked out that I grabbed a knife and just sat with it till my grandparents came home. Whenever I hear a strange noise in the house, I automatically go for a knife or a heavy object and wait it out. Because I'm from the Bronx and I am not going down without a fight >/
And third, my most normal fear is a fear of heights. It used to be to the point that I couldn't go down stairs, water slides, any rides, and definitely did not find any views from high places breath taking. Now I can go down stairs and look from high places as long as there is a railing and go in planes.
I used to be deathly afraid of needles, and I still can't watch a needle being inserted to skin but I am much better about the whole needle process. It once took my dad, two nurses, and a doctor to hold me down for a needle when I was five. That's how bad I was. I actually used to be deathly afraid of sharp objects because when I was little my hand got sliced open. I had to use plastic utensils for a very very long time, until I was in middle school. Then my first boyfriend ever was all, "here just play with this knife!" and I got over my fear quickly. He would literally like, go through our kitchens and find sharp knives and I would run my fingers down the blade or he showed me how to twirl one between my fingers. I swear to god he was the nicest guy ever, he just really liked helping people and wanted to help me with my phobia.

Water. Oh god, I especially hate the feeling of water on my face? I'm not sure what caused it tbh. When I was younger, I do remember my older sister pushing me into a pool a lot and trying to teach me how to swim because she insisted that she could swim well (we're about 8 years apart so if I was 4, she was 12). I do remember around age 9 living in an apartment and going to the pool with a friend and seeing someone drown so I avoid the water and I hate it. I can tolerate bathing obviously but the thought of my face going under water / water going over my head freaks me out and makes me feel like I'm drowning.
I'm also with Habbue about the whole vomit thing. I get freaked out when I know people have stomach bugs or whatever because I can tolerate being sick, but I can't tolerate vomiting. It's gross and while you almost always feel better after, I hate doing it and it's just.. ugh. /shudders.
Oh, and mild fear of heights. I don't do roller coasters - ever.

I AM SO AFRAID OF PEOPLE WEARING ANIMAL MASKS AND ANIMALS THAT LOOK LIKE PEOPLE IDK IF THERE IS A WORD FOR THAT BUT GD I AM SCARED SOB
i'm also super afraid of the dark, if i have to go outside in the dark or wander around the house my head instantly comes up with one trillion different scenarios in which i am going to die horribly and most of the time its things that are entirely impossible and related to 'monsters' and things like that. its vry annoying and weird idk what to do about it!!! i just try and have lights on 24/7 and when i go to work at 4:30 in the morning every day i just play music on my phone and have a flashlight to distract myself. i'm transitioning into adulthood p well if u ask me. u-u
