I love recycling characters if the setting allows for it. It is interesting to see how the character evolves differently in a different setting.

I try to make new characters for different sites. I do my best to be original but somehow....all my characters end up like ho's with or without class..or delinquents/mafia/yakuza. Yeah.. idek. It just happens.
I've never once used the same FC either..>_> I like seeing different faces on my characters. If there is a particular character that I am pleased with their history and persona..then I tend to keep them locked away for sites that I am with for a long time. Or just to have them as ideas.

i'm not uncomfortable with recycling characters. if i have a lot of muse for him/her, feel like he/she'd fit in the plot, or even if i'm just downright in love with the character cougherik then sure why not? i've had a list stored away of every major ic event that's happened over the sites that i have recycled certain characters who remain in my top favorites area so that they aren't just carbon copies of each other starting brand new every time? if character a looses a limb or something on one site, then character a is probably forever without that limb unless i see it necessary that he needs it. i mean playing the same exact character the same way gets boring after a while anyway, doesn't it?
i also use the same fcs unless they're taken though that could also mean that i don't make the same character. it's even gotten to a point with some characters that if i use a different fc it just feels really weird?? like uh for lack of a better character, i probably couldn't use anyone but niou masaharu for one of my characters because of how long he's been used and how well he fits the personality. i actually picked that exact fc because i wanted someone who was all bright and cheery maybe a few where he'd be high or drunk and just an all around happy individual with a few outrageous faces.
i'll also remake character if i'm on a site with a friend and they either ask me to make them ( or hint at it ) or if some old characters of their's come out. i love new characters, though, and i really do try to make something different for every site, but i'm really attached to some of my babies and i like to see them running around at least on one site.

i don't recycle characters usually because i end up leaving or the site dies and i don't have a chance to develop them enough for that
that except my baby who is the reason why i still roleplay

I recycle characters whenever ai want to!!! >:V /friggen rebel
But I seriously do. I've done it before whenever the muse came back. For the most part, though, I usually make new characters that'll fit into the site's plot/grand scheme of things.

If it seems natural, absolutely. See. Not enough people on the internet play a wise sage, and they almost ALWAYS balance out a situation.

I recycle characters all the time...though I think of it more as just taking my characters from forum to forum because I can't trash or drop characters. Also most of the characters I use even in new forums I joined are old characters I've made back in the early 2000s with some adaptations for them to fit in the theme.
