Wow okay so a lot of people seemed interested in this so... This is just an initial thing, eventually I'd probably just start a skype chat because that's easier. Like I don't want to be supreme overlord, I don't want to have to do a ton of staff work, I just want it to be a laid back thing where everyone has input and everyone is cool. But okay, so a few things I've more or less decided on: - It's gonna be private. Kind of? Well, not super exclusive, but like I said really want this to be a close-knit & long term thing. So a small group of people who are gonna actually stick around and develop plots. I'm probably not gonna bother with advertising/affiliates, just let people bring friends. - Very likely going to limit it to one character per person. I really want there to be a focus on a small group of characters that all have relationships with each other and intertwining plots. - It's gonna be on Proboards because that's what I'm most comfortable with. What I wanted options on, mostly: - Location? I'm thinking somewhere in North America just because that's what I'm familiar with, probably in a city, maybe Toronto? I'd probably have the main boards be the actual building and just a couple vague city boards for whatever places they might frequent, a la Central Perk. Majority of RP would be within the building and their main hangouts. - Also... specific location? How high/low end? What's nearby? Like what kinds of characters people want to play because obviously they all have to be plausibly living in the same building. I'm assuming like 20-somethings, but talk to me. Er I don't want this to get too long, like for now that's what I want input on but feel free to suggest anything you got, and I'll probably bring up more stuff once I get to it. Casually tags the people who I think were interested. Basically whoever liked/quoted, feel free to ignore this if you're not that interested. NEVER zerohour edward gimmick luck middy♥ Usagi Tsukino

So in terms of location/cost of living, I was thinking something maybe similar to the building that I live in? It's a downtown high-rise with prices that are moderate/high with 1-3 bedroom places. The only reason I recommend it is because all sorts of people live here. I live in a 2-bedroom with three roommates, there are families living on our floor, and there are also young business people that make good enough entry-level money to have their own place; there are some retirees and a load of other types of people. Basically, I guess what I'm saying is that something like that could be really conducive to a wide variety of characters. For more of a community feel, it could maybe be more like a 6-or-so-story complex, rather than a high-rise? I'm just spitballing, though. A city like Toronto seems really cool to me, too.

i think it doesn't matter exactly where as long as it's a city- toronto, la, chicago, new york city, miami, portland...it doesn't matter. i'm obsessed with portland and nyc so that's what my mind says but i'm really interested in any of the cities. neighborhood is probably ok. i say everything's quite average about the place. that makes it cook and gritty. just a completely random, normal apt building but when you delve in you see all the twisted relationships and friendships and etc.
so yeah, i say average apt building. somewhere in between high and low end- maybe apartments for kids who've been out of college for a few years. they can have roommates too. imo age should be like..27ish. give or take a few years.

If this thing is going to be small, it could even be just a generic, made-up city with all of the normal things cities might have? IDK, I'd like it to be by an ocean or something because I'm a sucker for the beach. Portland or even San Francisco (since that's where I'm at!) would be neat. The kind of building Edward described sounds absolutely perfect~ Nearly anyone's character idea could fit in there.

A apartment where everyone can live and be happy is great! Maybe extend the rooms to three to two?
I also say just a made up place, as said by Middy is a good idea! Cause really the places could just be like a simple mall, game store, mini mart, park. Just places that really don't need names that we all commonly know.
Ages I'd say maybe 20-30s? Then again I never see any older characters, so late 20s early 30s? 26-30? Idk.
And the old college buds is a good idea. But then again depending on how long they've all been in the apartment together then that that's is kinda null... Uhh idk. Ignore that.. Oh oh oh I like the beach! They could all go on a little vacation there! Yay! I don't have much to add ATM. I'm kinda just excited for all the different relationships
