I'm having a really hard time with mini profiles and the general board layout, those if/else things screw me up really bad. I personally like optional areas for cbox's since I have some friends who love it on the bottom/top and others who love it on the side because it's nice there and then I have some who want it hidden all together.
Like SIFR said I love fancy non hover mini profiles, hovers are really nice but I'd like to see some unique non hover ones. Let's bring back easy styling yes?

#offtopic i mean i'm sure there are people out there who are still interested in learning how to skin shit (coughmecough) but i've seen no full logistics tutorial so far. i'd rather not have to learn html from an engineer dad, thanks.THIS. IF YOU DID THIS, I'D LOVE YOU EVEN MORE.

Also, just a tip, but I generally don't even pay attention to the Advanced Colors and CSS panel. I plug my colours I actually want into the visual editor, and then proceed over to the Layout Templates and put all of my CSS for Forum Layout, Mini-Profile, Board Mods, etc into that. Omg I'm kind of happy that I'm not the only one who does that. It's like always such a pain in the bootybutt to go back and forth with that plus for some reason it feels easier to find and fix, no? But omg I'm always afraid that I'm doing everything wrong cause most times I just don't know what I'm doing and am learning a lot from trial and error. But I kind of do agree on hover mini-profiles. I do lover hovers but over time I noticed that the ones that do work on my phone are the ones in posts. I also dislike a lot of things that float with the exception of a navigationbar cause it gets in the way of everything wjen I browse on my phone ;~; (and I almost only use my phone when rping). But yes lovely tutorials would be great! They help a lot! I started off on one for posting temps that a friend made and in less than a year have gone a far distance with it. But I'm still very stupid with everything and it ends up taking hours to fix up things that really shouldn't have. ;~; I'd say tutorials on different sections of the board would be really great cause sometimes people to shove it all together and it just looks so overwhelming. But that could just be me.

I'm honestly more of a fan of people doing custom-made skins for a site rather than premades. As it was already mentioned, seeing a site with the exact same skin as every other new site is a huge turn off and I wouldn't want that for my site. I want something unique.
However I really have no idea how to code a skin from scratch and can only build off of someone else's base coding...which of course most people don't approve of and I can understand why. x: That being said, I would definitely be willing to learn how to skin from someone. Especially you, Minnie, because I love all the skins you make to death. ;w;
Also agree that a tutorial would be great. c:

minnieTo be honest I probably could make my own skins; however, I'm not very good at nor have the knowledge of creating nice mini-profiles and boards (<-- my main issue that irks me). I frankly don't like using premades for several reasons; however, if it's for proboards I make exceptions.
I absolutely adore your premades minnie, mainly because your style is extremely appealing to me just like everyone else. I think it's really awesome that you're addressing this.

From a person who makes mostly premades, I can understand why people are sick of seeing the same skin over different boards, I get sick of them as well. To be honest, when it comes to premades, customizability and functionality are perhaps the only things I keep in mind since I'm making them for a large community with different coding levels, which means I can't do all that crazy and fancy stuff I want to do. SIFR brought up a good point about the fuss with the Advanced Colors and CSS styles but Alisha at Adoxography wrote up an awesome tutorial on how to implement all the custom CSS into the custom visual editor by changing them into CSS variables. Basically changing colors, fonts, widths and any customizations become a whole lot easier cause you don't need to touch the css in the style sheet any more. Cause all you need to do is pick your colors and anything else you want and see it live in the preview box right below~

I noticed she did that with one of her premades that I was looking at; I can't remember what the name of it is right now. I'll probably go look at that tutorial, that sounds amazing if it's implemented correctly. It would make editing for others a hell of a lot easier.

I remember for V4 there were quite a bit of board mods and mini profile designs up for grabs but there doesn't seem to be many for V5. So that's something to think about! c: I see plenty of nice ones in premade skins but basically to use them you'd have to use the entire skin and sometimes all someone needs is a nice mini profile.

i'd honestly love a tutorial series from anyone that just breaks it down super simple like i'm a five year old. I started one the other day but deleted it because I thought no one would use it... >.>

If anything, it could only help. I was going down to the bare bones of everything for Proboards Skinning and when I re-read it... it sounded so boring and just blah. I'll re-start it and make it more enjoyable and less like an encyclopedia. Lol. Adding on to the subject of the thread, I would love to see more PB work from you minnie and I honestly hate Pre-Mades because like a lot of people have mentioned, you see them everywhere... but I don't like taking requests anymore because they usually never are used and if I spend hours on something, I want it to be used. And for some reason, some people think my requests are just templates they can fiddle with. *twitches* But yeah...

Kerria ♥ yup, but there are some that give out premade mini-profiles and board myos...just not enough of them.
also, awesome avatar and signature, i absolutely adore bee and puppycat; however, i felt they butchered all of the episodes so far besides the first one. it was really disappointing in my opinion, but there were some things in the episodes that gave more info about the characters.

POLARBEAROh yes I know there are some, just not that many which means the same thing as the premades: you'll be seeing the same ones everywhere. And thank you! I agree with you though, I loved the pilot and the first two episodes were cute but I was a bit disappointed by the others. Still, I have high hopes for it. c: And I want Puppycat's face on everything I own. also more Deckard pls.

I'm the type of fucknut if you make a skin for me I'll carry it with me 4ever b/c I'm just that type of nerd. You made it for me, it's amazing I don't even need to see to know that so I wanna use it wherever I go.
I always wanted a site that cycled skin but again, I have a hard time with premades unless I don't see it very often. XD
if I learned how to skin, it probably wouldn't be used just like my templates haha

i think that maybe some base codes might be helpful. i know a lot of people know how to style things but not necessarily structure them. (me for example lmao)
also i'm absolute trash at designing boards, but i do like making miniprofs, so maybe i could try throwing up some premades if people would be interested.
