So I've recently come back to roleplaying as a hobby after a hiatus at a wonderful site called Seicho no Hana! The board is centered around the fictional and prestigious Fukui Academy, an all-girls school in Japan dedicated entirely to higher learning and mostly to high art. There's also the rumored local reputation, however, that the student body has a habit of finding love during their attendance of said school.
My first (and right now only) character on the board is a Second Year of mixed German/Japanese heritage named Marie Reisender (BIO & PLOTTER). To touch on it briefly, Marie developed non-congenital blindness after a medical emergency during puberty, so it's kind of difficult for her to meet new people and make new friends. I started writing her as a Second Year, but my headcanon is that she was extremely introverted and absorbed in her studies for her first year at Fukui, with little to no time to meet people, so she's sorely in need of a good friend at the school right now.
What I'm looking for is someone to play the role of Marie's best friend, a French/Japanese girl one year her junior by the name of Hannah Jacqueline Decroix. There is definitely some wiggle-room in terms of how you want to write them, but here are some basic things I'd like from the character:
Hannah is, in a nutshell, meek, doubtful, and extremely reluctant about dealing with large gatherings of people. She's someone who often draws into herself as a coping mechanism, and seldom makes the first move in social situations. When she does speak up, Hannah is at all times cautious about her choice of words and how they might be interpreted by any given person.
Hannah had a traumatic childhood accident, much like Marie, when her parents were doing some renovating of the family home in France. Due to some faulty wiring, an electrical fire broke out during the night, utterly destroying their house and killing both (or one, if you'd prefer otherwise) of her parents. The experience marked Hannah mentally and physically; as a reminder, she has a full-body burn scar all along the right side of her body that has dulled slightly from both time and growth during puberty. After being released from intensive care at the hospital she underwent painful physical therapy for what seemed like entirely too long a period of time, afterwards being sent to live with her mother's sister in Japan. Shying away from people in person, Hannah took to socializing online, where there was at least a buffer between her and someone else - and there was where she met Marie.
The talent that brings Hannah to Fukui is her writing; while she dabbles in poetry and prose, her main interest lie within fantasy, science fiction, and superheroes, to the point where she has several stories of indeterminate length started at once. She even has a story about an alien heroine inspired by her friend Marie! Although she was embarrassed to admit it, and she adamantly refused to read any of it to Marie before it's finished. The two of them also first met on a message board for fans of science fiction, so the genre was a cornerstone of their friendship - Hannah could just talk about stories and characters and ideas for hours to Marie over Skype, which Marie is perfectly content in indulging.
Hannah's sent Marie material gifts in the past, as a sign of goodwill; chiefly among them were a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses and a ukulele.
She considers Marie to be her first real friend in what feels like forever since the accident, and because of this she can come across as quite clingy. She struggles with the thought sometimes, but the truth of the matter is that she's crushing hard for her - it doesn't seem like it's reciprocated, but then again she's never asked. Marie is a good friend that can act pretty motherly around her loved ones, so Hannah feels conflicted about whether or not she should even entertain the idea. Given all this, it's unlikely that their dynamic would ever change unless Hannah made the first move - but then, getting accepted to Fukui and planning on surprising her friend with her late arrival? Maybe there'll be an opportunity...
As for immutable physical traits: whether shoulder-length or longer (depending on who you choose as a faceclaim), Hannah's bangs are styled in such a way that they shade over the right side of her face to obscure the discolored skin and apparent spiderwebbing. She has a habit of wearing loose and baggy clothing, both out of comfort (because it's less restricting and hardly puts any pressure at all on her right side) and out of an attempt to make herself seem less noticeable. Hannah also wears a thin pair of gloves, to hide the scarring on her right hand and discourage others from making physical contact with her. Across the bridge of her nose/her cheekbones, the tops of her shoulders, and the small of her back are a smattering of dark freckles. Hannah also isn't really tall at all, standing at somewhere around 5-foot, which would make things kind of comical when standing next to her friend Marie, who is 6-foot even. Hannah often has an expression on her face that reads as 'tired' - possibly through half-closed eyelids.
Suggested faceclaim: Nishikino Maki from "Love Live! School Idol Project"

This is completely up for negotiation! I'm terrible with finding faceclaims that fit, so my 'suggested' one is just the one I could think of. I'd also love it if you had a suggested faceclaim with darker skin, as I could definitely see the French half of her family having traceable Caribbean or Nigerian roots! Bonus points if you're good enough at manipulation to hint at her scarification in the images, but obviously that's not necessary.
It goes without saying that if you decide to pick up this character,I'll love you forever you'll have guaranteed threads with my character Marie for sure, but the other people at the board are ridiculously awesome as well! There'd definitely be no shortage of people and characters to thread with. If you're interested, hit me up! Either via PM here, or by Twitter (@poetryavenger) if you have it - I'm eager to bring Hannah into this setting, so I promise to get back to you as quickly as I can!
