I don't know enough about code to skin from scratch but I really love dealing with the look and feel of a site. Being a designer, I like playing around with a pre-made skin and giving it my own flair (while keeping the credits intact of course). Setting up the color scheme, the fonts, making the census look nice, etc. You might even say I'm a bit OCD about it.;; If part of the coding is off or making the site look weird, I get twitchy and feel like I need to fix it. x.o
which might annoy Gunny sometimes I'm so sorry.;; lolol But at the same time we make a great team cause I handle all the coding while she writes all the info. :3 Teamwork!

i'm not good with creating worlds, or making the most eye catching skins, or advertising to bring in people.
i like to interact with the members on the site rather than doing staffly things.
i like spinning stories and starting adventures with the members on my sites. i like watching members interact with each other and reading the threads they do together. i'm that person who makes about a billion characters and attempts to plot them with everyone (whenever i'm not crying over how scared i am they'll hate the plots i come up with). i like weaving my character's into the lives of every other character on the site. i like making open threads and hoping people join them.
though it's really fucking ironic because i'm the biggest flake when it comes to joining sites.

I don't enjoy making sites so much as I enjoy making the worlds that live in my head come to life and sharing them with everyone. For the most part, my most favorite part of creating a site is the world building. I actually hate to code, and I hate to have to write all the info already neatly prepared in my head onto a word document, and I don't mind graphics but I think it sucks I can't make my own art.
Also, I believe all staff members should have clear-cut duties, BUT... I also believe in two things: (1) when creating a site, the main admin should write at least 90% of the site content and (2) all staff members should pick up the slack of an absent staffer. For example, I think it's really stupid a mod in charge of inventory can't look over a profile that has been sitting in pending just because they're an inventory mod. Every staff member should be trained to accept profiles.
...And yes, I say trained. I make rules and tutorials for all staff members of mine to follow so that god forbid I can't contact anyone, I know I gave my staffers the tools necessary to run things smoothly till I got back.

I agree that other staffers should be able to pick up the slack in case one of the others goes inactive or has to be away for a while. I know when my apps moderator is gone, I won't allow a profile to sit without being looked at within 24 hours. If she can't do it, then I do it. And if I'm not around when a new member shows up, my moderator will approve their account (we have admin approved registration to protect against spammers).
I honestly don't mind doing most of the work on my sites and I'm sole staffer on Somnia. But it can get a little overwhelming between the two sites on occasion. I actually hate reviewing apps on Tellius. I hate that job. But it's really the only job I hate of all the work I have to do.

Tbh I try creating things for the site but just a small bit. My strength lies in interaction with people. I love talking to the members and reading apps. Yes, that tedious process every admin hates. I love reading what other people create, idec if I don't get to rp much if there are a plethora of apps.
I also like hoeing advertising stuff. I got autobanned on all pb sites for a while bec of hardcore adverting lmao! But it's worth it because it seriously helps.
That ad thinking events up. Those are always fun.

Lately my role in site creation has switched. I've been doing a lot of troubleshooting with codes and plots and systems. It's really funny because now that I know how to code somewhat, I'm helping the friends who skinned for me on v4 figure out how to work v5 The student has surpassed the teacher now I am the master. /shot

World Building, Information Writing and when I get lucky enough to make a good piece of art, graphical design.
Sitting down and writing out the lore to a world and then translating all of that goodness into a manageable rule-set that people enjoy... Probably the best part of RPing. Even better than writing the actual RP out in my opinion. Only topped by that off-chance where you make a signature or a avatar/topic header that just hits that spot. CAN'T BEAT IT!
