Who are the canons do you like playing? Or what kind? So far, I've only really just joined Digimon and Pokemon rps that allow canons. I usually play the one no one plays but I do shoot for main canons or the most popular one just so I can pick them up and deviate from how they're usually played.
I've played Henry Wong / Lee Jianliang and Yamaki (wish I could have really RPed him more) from Systematic Breakdown, a Digimon RP, and for Pokemon - Bugsy and Will from Predormitum and End of The Road. I love Bugsy and...Will needs some more practicing. I also attempted to play Red and really liked my interpretation of him but never got around to RPing him.
For the longest time (as long as I had began playing canons anyway), I've played Wallace. I first picked him up in Let Fire Loose after I was out-reserved with Leaf. Didn't work out well there but things went for a turn in Terror Among Us, then Predormitum. I love Wallace but I don't think I'll play him again for a long time. I'm satisfied with the eight month or so that I've RPed him. Made wonderful plots and threads and I expressed what I interpreted from his character.

I used to be a canon whore and only join canon rp sites. Mainly, Bleach. I loved playing Yachiru the most. She's so fun :c I also played Rukia, though, and then Soifon. And lemme tell you. Soifon is a G.
Uhmm, that's about it orz I would like to join a nice canon Fairy Tail site and maybe play Erza or Gajeel. Other than that... There aren't a lot of fandoms I would enjoy role playing canons for. The series has to have a lot of diverse characters. Not just two main characters and a bunch of others whose only purpose is random plot explanations for comedic relief.
I could do a canon Code Geass RP.
But I love Code Geass.
A lot.

I've actually only recently started playing canon characters, and it's usually just whatever someone wants. For me, personally, playing a canon character is a lot of pressure. With an original character you have no preconceptions, but everyone has a different view of a character, and I always assume mine is wrong...
*cough*
To answer your question, though, I've been playing Weasel from Deadpool lately. I never pick a main character, I start panicking a little when I think about trying one.

I've roleplayed from different canons on and off. One that really brought be back into roleplaying was Tales of, as my icon might suggest. I tried a number of different characters, but Asch was probably my longest lasting muse. He hit the ground running when I first picked him up, and he had more character development than I could have anticipated when I first joined that game. It sounds weird, considering his personality, but he had good chemistry with the other characters.
This makes me want to join a Tales game...

I cannot even list all of the canons I've ever played and like Aerie, I only played canons in fandom games for a very long time. I played originals on original forums, but whenever I played in a fandom, it was only to play a certain canon. Unfortunately for me, a lot of my canons are fan favorites and they're always taken, so after a while, I stopped looking. Mostly I just RP my favorite fandoms with my friends or brother now.

I have played a few canon characters, but not from fandoms, only from... sites where they show you the characters needed. I had a French ship captain on a site, and I think there were other few on other sites as well.

Snorlax You play Weasel? Whoa that's awesome. I definitely know what you mean when it comes to the pressure of canons, though; there's often a time where I want to incorporate a headcanon and I'm too scared of the backlash to actually do so. :I Personally, I love love love multifandom sites! I legitimately can't play OCs anymore because I end up incorporating them into the original stories I write and then I get confused by their character development in RP. I mainly play TF2 canons, specifically RED Sniper, BLU Pyro, Director, Miss Pauling, and Administrator. Background characters aw yeah. I also used to play Alex de Large (from A Clockwork Orange) but his muse was a massive jerk so I quit. Also I love Psychonauts; I play Razputin and used to play Boyd (he was my first canon ever, in fact). I also recently extended my repertoire to a character from a concept album mainly just to see if I could. Out of curiosity, do you guys find it difficult to write dialogue or actions for canons specifically? Or, like... is it easy for you to know what they'd do but not how they'd say something in particular?

It depends on the canon. Currently, I play a handful of canons on my Fire Emblem board and I find Legault extremely easy to write for, always. Soren is a bit tougher depending on the thread mood. Social situations with strangers are bleh to write him with since most of the time he's all "Not interested, goodbye."
I used to roleplay Takaya from Persona 3 effectively but if I had to pick him up again now, I'd have to delve back into the game and look through all my research notes from the last time I played him. Shinjiro from the same game, however? I could pick him up easily, always.
I played a bunch of Suikoden characters for years and my usuals are very easy for me to pick up. Very easy. But I also would play characters that were needed for plots. Those characters required a bit of exercise to play (again, depending on the character).
Legend of Mana? Picked up Bud easily. Elazul was trickier.
The list could go on and on. Like I said, I used to play exclusively canons and I've been on at least a hundred forums in my time. Some canon characters are harder for me to write/slip into because they aren't as comfortable for me or I don't easily identify with or understand them.
