Okay, so lemmie just say right off that anything down there could be changed to what you want, I just wrote it up as an idea that could be used or whatevs. You see, I've been rewatching digimon recently, and it's made me start craving a digimon rp taking place after the ending of season 02, where everyone in the world was given a partner. Basically real world digimon rp + crime (because digimon = weapons) + gangs + police + slice of life with digimon if you want = c'mon, please gais?

It's been eight years since the final fight with malomyotismon, and Earth is still reeling. The digital world was suddenly open to all, shocking everyone with the news that each and every person - no matter how old or young - had a digital partner destined to be with them. It was stunning, a revelation that was met with different reactions from the forms of government around the world. Most tried in vain to sweep it back under the rug, recognizing the potential for even more disaster to occur if they allowed these monsters to roam free, but the people resisted - clinging to the newly formed bonds with their digital companions.

In the end, it was mostly successful, with the governments drafting up international laws (that were generally followed) that heavily regulated access through digital gates, anti-digivolution laws, and a controversial rule that prevented children from being allowed their partner until they were ten years old to prevent childish tantrums with a living weapon by their side.

Still, a living weapon is a living weapon, and criminals will be criminals. You can't expect a thug to look at their digivolved 20 foot tall greymon and not think 'wow, I bet that thing can mess bank vaults up!'. The seedy underbelly of society started pumpin' up their partners, flagrantly ignoring the strict digivolution laws. Underground pit fights and violent crime skyrocketed while the police force struggled to boost their own teams to combat them. Within five years, talk of sending all digimon back to the digital world was hot button with all the politicians and tax payers sick of bankrupting their cities through constant reconstruction.

Many younger civilians protested, taking the law into their own hands and creating vigilante groups to crack down on violence as the cops struggled to keep up. As with all would be heroes, however, most quickly became more like gangs themselves - guarding their own territories harshly and without the restraint of official lawmen. Now, with the streets a bit calmer than three years before, life is still much more complex than the pre-digimon era ever was. Every day civilians have to avoid the constant scraps between the three types of factions - criminals, 'vigilante' gangs, and police. It's a dangerous world, and is it really worth it in the end? A lot of people in high up places are wondering just that, and if they'd better start pushing their drafted plans for digimon removal once again.

I'm willing to help and write some stuff up, but instead of being an active admin, I'd really just rather be mostly a normal member. I have no time with work and another site to do things like events, combat/partner systems, accepting apps, ect. I mean, I could do some of it on my rare days off, but it'd just be so super cool if some people would be interested in running it as the main staff. Magically. /crosses fingers against the unlikely odds

I would be more than happy to help with the site. I read through the whole thing, and it sounds amazing and the plot is very unique. Plus the realism of the site intrigues me greatly. Just a suggestion, maybe? Maybe trying to get a "site-canon"-esque system going, for a few digidestineds who are actually trying to get the digital world back to being separated from humans like it was before. Since I saw that the idea was there. But it's only a suggestion, nothing more.

I can help with descriptions, some designing graphics & templates, and perhaps information. A thing I love to do is read and accept character applications, too, so I again I'd be more than happy to help out with the site.

I like this idea because I'm more inclined with the idea of digidestined with the digimon fandom, but I do question the relevance to the whole gang/crime rp as it does stir away from the focus of it. It sounds more like a season finale arc or something.

I suppose there could always be a sect for users to join for characters who want the separation between worlds? xD We already possibly have cops, gangs, civies, and hard criminals like mobsters (assuming all of that up there stayed), and it's not a stretch at all to add a secret-ish organization of like minded people who want separation (separationalists? lol, legend of korra flashback).

The thing I thought was cool about the 02 ending was that every person was a digidestined, so I was able to picture how freeform the forum could be without an overarching save the world plot. However, if that stuff is what a lot of you want, you could always add stuff in like an evil corporation who traps certain people in the digital world or whatevs? c:

After I get off work (I work a huge shift today and tomorrow), I could try to write up a list of everything we'd need so we could see if divvying it up would work? Just basic things like plot, rules, partner system(urk, seems hard), ect?

Sounds good I can see what I can do to help out with that stuff or help with organizing and graphics. Also we should figure out if we want to do it on V4/v5 or Jcink. I don't like V5 personally so part of me is leaning over Jcink. On top of it everyone on v4 at the end of the year will get forced to v5 so ;-;.

I know absolutely nothing about Jcink. I did try it once, but it was sooo slow to load and went down most of the entire day I'd tried it. If that's not normal, then I would be okay with trying it if it's the option most people prefer. c: I have more experience with proboards v4, but the fact you can't make them anymore (though I have a couple test sites we could use?) combined with the fact it'd all get defunct in a few months makes me think it might not be the best option. I don't know anything about V5, but it doesn't seem too bad? I'll go along with the popular option though. xD /non-decisive

I like the idea of staff picking because members would go for an either well known Digimon or the strongest, leaving the rest of the partner Digimon unwanted. I'm not sure but I think it might be a good idea to have a limit list too when it comes to Digilines or something?

Leveling Digivolution System

What I liked about leveling on this one site I used to be on is that leveling goes by post counts. If you reach to this amount of posts you get to this level. It honestly makes it a lot easier and not so hectic. As for the chatbox wise I might know someone that would be able to pay for a chatbox.

Just drop me a call when we're tackling this thing for real because I have too many things to say and add for initial planning. I've staffed in Digimon sites before so I do think I have exp in the leveling and partner system you're not. And yeah if we're jcink, I can skin for it.

For now though - since I guess this has become a site discussion too - just gonna say that I'm not so sure about the setting. It's not a good idea to be broad when it comes to setting as you will have characters scattering around too much and in a gang rp, you want the population to be focused in one area. Being specific about the setting doesn't mean you're limiting creativity. Rather, you're presenting a proper tool for rpers to utilize. Much like in games, atmosphere is very important.

I suggest a place like an island or a region that has different cities that people could make use of. I'm imagining something like Pokemon (as cliched as it is). Each region has a distinct city that summarizes the entire region. Since this is 02-based, we have to come up with a real world equivalent. I was thinking of Odaiba Japan because it's a man-made island and really Japan = always been a setting for Digimon. I'm sure people would want to come from other countries too and putting that in a gang rp...oh well it's the age of globalization.

By the way, why 8 years? I feel like a bigger timeskip would be more beneficial so we could twist the setting.

I'm willing to admin, I'm just leery of how much I'll be able to do with work + king's game. I think I can definitely be an active adminly part for the creation and opening, just daily things like approvals, ads, and event would be a little out of my scope most days. Luckily, I have tomorrow off and light hours for the first few days of the week, so I could def. hammer stuff out now. c:

Hnng, yes, pls help with the partner/leveling systems. ;u; I had a Gaia rp of digimon a billion years ago (with a similar concept), but I really think it doesn't even count as experience. It didn't have a system in the slightest (ah, my noob days).

I definitely agree that smaller settings are good. c: Odaiba sounds really cool. /goes to google I seriously am fine with the setting being anywhere in the world, but I think a big city/heavily populated area would work best. I'd even be okay with making up the place. c: There are amazing sites like traveljapan that separate region/district/city/partsofcity/places, so I think it'd be easy enough to use a RL location though.

I chose 15 at first, but then I wondered why they wouldn't have been kicked out if they caused so much trouble after five. On a whim, I cut it to eight. We could easily change it, since the time was the part I thought through least. How much would do you think is good? 15? 20? More?

EDIT: Also, on globalization, the digital world would make travel super easy. I'd imagine that cultures would blend a lot more.

Oh, I missed your post Minoto! >n< For the templates, we'd have to wait and see which host we use, though Jcink definitly seems the most likely. As for the partner system, do you think the staff choosing with or without a method (like random chance or deliberate picking) is best? Do people often get angry with staff choices not matching what they want?
