I tend to err on the side of caution simply because I don't want them to think I'm a psychopath who enjoys the pain of her characters. I'm totally not, I swear.. okay maybe a little. are you telling me not all rpers are secret psychopaths THERE ARE A FEW TEENY TINY INNOCENTS LEFT AND I'M NEVER SURE IF PEOPLE ARE ONE OF THEM. I DON'T WANT TO BE THE CAUSE OF PEOPLE BECOMING HOMICIDAL IT'S BAD KARMA OKAY Dx >> I wish I hadn't typed that in caps but I'm way too lazy to retype it so extreme freaking out go.

Have you ever suggested a plot that the other person shot down because they didn't believe it was a good or plausible enough? How'd you handle it?
Nope. I am fabulous with the plots. Haha! In all seriousness, though, no. I cannot remember ever being shot down for a plot and I suppose if I was, it didn't impact me enough to remember the event. The only complaint I have is that when I post a want ad on my site, for example, it's snatched up in a day or two (but usually within the hour after posting) and I kinda want new people to plot with. So I've taken to posting my want ads offsite on places like this now. >.> I'm not trying to be clique-ish. The same two people just keep stealing all the plots! Haha! That said, when I do take it to PM and ask somebody specifically if they would like a role, sometimes it doesn't work out but I don't consider that being turned down. Just the plot I extended doesn't work out for one reason or another. It happens. Sometimes the characters just don't click the way they're supposed to or we don't have matching posting speeds.
If you have multiple characters, do you try to think of plots for all of them, or just pick the one you think is best, or what?
Okay... Well, I've been kinda booed before for this but I have a LOT of characters. While I did delete many accounts recently, I still have 70 on Tellius, 24 on PFT (but some more may be deleted there), and 40 on Somnia. I'm currently on a self-made ban from making characters beyond those unless I have a VERY good reason (IE, one of the current characters can't fill a desired role). So for me, I have a lot of characters but they're usually made with a plot already in mind. Sometimes the plot is for other people and sometimes it's some big bright plan I have for something. Some of the plot ideas I had failed and I deleted those characters or I'm in the process of building new plots for them. I do come up with plot ideas for all my characters but not all at once. I firmly don't believe in forcing plot ideas even on myself so if a particular character doesn't have a plot any more, I don't feel the need to MAKE ONE RIGHT NOW for the character. If I'm patient and not pushing it, the idea will just come to me. Snap of the finger and there's an idea right there.
Does whether or not a person uses a plot template determine if you'll reply to their page or not? (Basically, do aesthetics matter?)
Unless there's a scrollbar or unreadable text, I really don't care. I don't like being judged for not using any formatting (beyond the usual italics) and don't generally judge people who do like to pretty up their posts (in fact, I do try to help people transfer HTML or PB code to our custom code) so I expect not to be judged in return for not using any templates or formatting.
Have you ever replied to other plot pages, but never bothered to create one of your own? (or vice versa?) And is that inconsiderate, or "bad", or something?
We have a place for plot pages on all my forums but people just tend to throw a few sentences up on Tellius: "YO, I have a new FE canon guy in this place, anybody wanna make some messes together?" or on PFT, people give a rundown of their character and possible plots for other people to engage in--which I like because it gives others a foothold instead of coming to you but having to do ALL the work. They can see from the start what sort of ideas you want to run with for your character and if they can fit their character into the niche. And on Somnia, to be honest.... It's my only RL site, so you would think they would be more prevalent but on Somnia, most of us just PM one another plot ideas and say "You up for this?" I think I've seen maybe 1-2 posted plot pages there and they're usually pretty vague. I think it's also because we have the fewest members there, with only about 6 regulars. But anyway, no, I don't think it's bad if people don't post a plot page. I usually don't.
Have you ever outright rejected somebody who wanted to thread with you because you thought they were just an awful writer?
No. I'm an admin and I think that would be bad conduct. What does annoy me, though, is when a person comes to me wanting to plot but does none of the work. If you're the one approaching me for a plot, you should probably come with a plot. Otherwise, don't expect me to be very interested.

To totally piggyback on what my fellow tentacle Milachan said... >> This thread has been enlightening and I love you all. I saw a few of you saying this was a lot, so next time I ask a question I'll be sure to make it short, sweet and straight to the point. Also I totally want to share my own experiences like you guys were kind enough to do but that'll have to happen later since I'm on a phone right now! Anyway thanks and feel free to continue sharing!

oh opinions! i love reading other opinions and realizing there are people who feel the same as me :3
- i don't generally reject someone right off the bat, unless it is completely in defiance of my character and i am genuinely not interested. i suppose i'm just too nice to really say no, and i like to give people the opportunity that others may not.
- i'm a plot whore. i am always thinking up plots for all of my characters, and i have a bunch. unfortunately it doesn't always work out cause the characters i'm interacting with to help develop the plot go inactive ;w;
- i honestly don't really go through the plot pages much. i might skim, just for fuck's sake, but usually i just talk to the person in cbox. plot templates are nice to look at and all, but it's about the character, not the template (;
- i always make a plot page, and i like to update it frequently and put in effort to the template and the descriptions. i suffer from no-replies though, but i guess i don't really mind since even though no one is responding to my plot page, i'm plotting anyways xD it's really just there for the people who don't hop in cbox and prefer plot pages~
- i've never outright rejected someone of a thread. i might have made the excuse i'm too busy to avoid them, but in most cases, i'll thread with anyone, and tend to thread with a lot of people for the mere sake of pleasing them and to keep them from complaining in the cbox how no one ever rp's with them.

You know, despite what you guys say about templates not mattering, I feel like it does. From my experience lol. Besides not having a template, I don't follow the typical plot format of f/e/r/o.
I'm going spiffy up my stuffs and see if I attract new bees.

I totally jacked this from Zozma. Sorry dude ^^;
Have you ever suggested a plot that the other person shot down because they didn't believe it was a good or plausible enough? How'd you handle it?
I'm sure it's happened, but I honestly can't remember a specific scenario. If that happened now though, I'd just shrug my shoulders and go back to the drawing board, or ask for their input on how they think the plot should go. When I plot with others, I really try to ask the other player whether or not the plot is plausible and if it isn't, what would make it more plausible or possible for their character.
If you have multiple characters, do you try to think of plots for all of them, or just pick the one you think is best, or what?
It really depends on the characters and the site. I have a habit of making characters that supplement each other, and usually one character will be my 'focus' while the other will take a semi-backseat until I can find their own niche. Usually a character that isn't my 'focus' I offer up as a supplementary character to rolep lay with others, and eventually that character has enough plottage to keep them busy and, soon enough, to become worthy of being focused on more with all the plots they end up becoming apart of.
For example, one of my favorite characters I ever made was originally going to die in the name of character development for my other character. However, she ended up getting so many plots and having such strong development that I decided to keep her alive. A lot of times I think I'll have more fun with the 'focus', but end up having more fun with their 'supplement' instead.
Does whether or not a person uses a plot template determine if you'll reply to their page or not? (Basically, do aesthetics matter?)
Not at all. I like using templates cause, hey, they're pretty, but I honestly don't care if someone else uses them or not. It does put me off when someone doesn't have a plot page at all, though, because it makes me feel like they don't want to plot with anyone.
Have you ever replied to other plot pages, but never bothered to create one of your own? (or vice versa?) And is that inconsiderate, or "bad", or something?
I always reply to other plot pages or respond to plot requests. Because, I mean, PLOTTING <3 I love plotting. Plotting is one of my favorite parts of role playing. I always make a plot page if the site I'm on has a page for them. I don't like it when people don't have plot pages and only plot with their friends on a site. And when I say 'friends', I mean people they brought to the site who they only stick with. There's private messengers for that. SHARE YOUR CHARACTERS, GUYS >/
Have you ever outright rejected somebody who wanted to thread with you because you thought they were just an awful writer?
UM... I honestly can't remember specifically, but back when I was an elitist snob in my like, second or third year of role playing, I'm sure I did. What I remember more is not role playing or plotting with someone if I thought they were a mean person - them, not their characters - or if I had roleplayed with them and didn't like the way they had handled themselves. Like one time I was role playing with this guy and he replied to me by literally copy and pasting my last post into his post, and then power played my character. Never role played with him again after that XD
