i'm not sure what to call them...but i'm going to call them flexible applications. for now. anyways, i love changing skins. i also love making pretty applications that go along with the skins. but unfortunately if you change skins, previous apps won't really match the style and i think that looks strange. same thing goes for staff posts, etc, where the template doesn't match. and it's a HUGE hassle to go through and edit EVERYTHING. so...why not just code it into the skin? i've experimented with this and a new skin that i'm going to be installing on this is home will have an application that's fully coded into the skin. by saying coded into the skin, i mean that the actual app is just a table with things like application crap here and that class is coded out in the global header. while you can't really mess with some things, like the width of the application, you are able to change fonts and colors to suit each skin and make everything match...without the hassle. anyway, i was wondering if i stumbled across something great or if anyone else had done this before LOL because i just think it makes sense.

I've been doing this for three years x:
It also has the added bonus of taking a lot of styling crap out of the application, so you can see the parts you're meant to edit easier!

of course...but you're also a coding goddess ;w;
i figured i wasn't, but everyone i had talked to about it didn't do it...and i'm like, but its so practical D:
yes i love that! when there's too much coding i worry that sometimes people could get lost and ... i've never had it happen but its still a worry of mine 8u

From the PB sites I've been on, not a SINGLE one used this lol but it's common in jcink, I think. I've only been in one jcink site though.

i thought it would be, since it seems to make sense...but yeah like tanz said, i haven't run across it ever and it just occurred to me one day to do it.
it would certainly make lives easier 8u

ngl on b4 i used to stick all my post template styling in the headers too so i wouldn't have all this huge code in my ic posts. as an admin i tend to abuse the headers and footers.

Yeah, I do this for every one of my forums. Each skin gets the application colors changed so that it matches the next one.
