My site, End Point is constantly attacked by a troll in the cbox. We've tried banning him multiple times, but he uses a dynamic IP, so we basically can do nothing about it. I backread the cbox, and he was continuously insulting a certain profile that had a high rank, which is how he got banned in the first place. It was approved at the start of the site, so we might have been less picky about the length of the history, even though it's true that more powerful entities should be more fleshed out. Most of the time, we're in it for the fun of the RP and to get the plot moving, not to say who writes the longest posts. :/ As long as I have something to go on, I couldn't care less if a post was 200 words or 2000. But when it comes to Bleach (I've been doing Bleach RP's for over 4 years), a lot seem to look down on those who dip under 700. So, I've decided to quit Bleach. More than anything, it gets flooded with kids, or people who are way too elite to even be RP'ing. Plus, I don't really like Bleach anymore.
I'm really down right now. This site came so far, exceeding all the expectations I've had for it. I made so many friends, some of which I trust more than almost anyone else. One even sent me a laptop when my old one broke down. Paid $50 in shipping on top of that, and expected nothing in return. I have great plots, and huge plans for all 7 of my characters. While the site, like any other, has it's flaws, it's one of the most active Bleach RP's out there (that I've seen) and a lot of people love it. And now, because one person got banned, this troll is attempting to harvest my personal info and is destroying my site. The countless time and effort I've put into this site all means nothing now.
We already have plans for a new site (you might have seen the skin request last night), it'll be original animanga. The staff had a huge Skype chat last night and we came up with great ideas. And we will have a much simpler system because stats raise way too many arguments. x.x But idk. After how far we came on EP, this feels like such a waste. Idk if I even can start over. I'm not one of those people who site hop. I have to stick with just one, or I lose muse.
Sorry if any of this sounds like a sob story. You can ignore those parts. I'm not asking for a critique of the site, either. People have left because of the troll, and I'm sure no one will join when the first thing they see, is that. So that ship has sailed. In due time, I will be shutting it down. I really just don't want to deal with Bleachtards anymore. It takes a lot for me to give up on something, but this, coupled with how many trolls and idiots we've had in the past made me snap. Being there is doing nothing but drag me down, and I don't need that.
tl;dr, I just wanted to see if anyone has had a problem like this on one their site? I mean, one thing was said, and boom, there goes a relatively large, active site. And is there any way to deal with this? I mean, I could delete the cbox, but that would just give the troll what he wants. I'll probably have to do that anyway, but it'll suck. The cbox is kind of an important thing to have.

I've had to deal with that multiple times. And still do. I say from experience moving the site might not help much. I recommend if u have enough members then just make it no longer guest friendly. Then u can prevent someone from posting things. Now if the person joins, you could also stop allowing new members except ppl u guys pick / find urselves. That's my suggestions. Good luck! Trolls are shitty i know how ya feel:/

Yeah, I've seen people like this incbox. One was on a site the first day it opened shit talking another site us staff had all been in charge of. We just told him 'this site's not for you bro' and he left. Never have I ever experienced a serial troll though. You've gotta have no life to be that obsessed. You guys shouldn't let one troll discourage you. If they really are succeeding in discouraging you, then you're site might not be as tight-knit and close as you make it seem. There are all different kinds of trolls out there, but as long as you don't take them seriously, they never win 8) My advice is to tell you're skype group, the people you trust, to troll the troll back. Just make fun of him. Be light-hearted. Be goofy. Punt him around a little. Nothing destroys a trolls mission more than people who laugh at his attempts. When trolls make people serious, sad, or angry, they win. To bully the troll back, tell them that they're seriously trying to hard. I mean, they sound kind of obsessed with trolling your site. Maybe have everyone in the cbox start quoting this mariah carey song www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Yt0xJKDY8

We've all gone through this kind of scenario at least once or twice. >.< If the troll is that obsessed with you guys, wouldn't he just jump on over to your new site? I've had plenty of people pretty much shit talk me for making new sites and they come over there just to say that. It's a really big downer but you know, you're always going to be the one better off because you're not the one spreading negative energy. They are. Besides, you've made something incredible. That's something that'll never change. And if you're that tired of Bleach, then maybe it is time to move on. I know I probably would too if I were in your shoes. But it kind of sounds like you're tired of it because of the troll and he's emulating everything else that you don't like about Bleach. Maybe take a step back, give yourself a little break, and then think: What if he was gone and everything went back to normal? Would I still want to be here? If the answer is yes, cool, keep your site up and just tell your members what Byung said. Link the troll that song. If no, then it's time to move on. Although if you do decide to close your Bleach site, just know members aren't always going to be okay with it, especially with the amount you have. Some will put up a fight and bash you even if you explain how you feel about. There are a lot of ways to tackle this sort of problem but I would put the site on members only mode for a while so that people can finish up plots/get their stuff/etc. And once your new site opens, then it's time to say your final good bye to End Point. But it really did break my heart reading about what was going on. I hate it when people are suffering because of trolls and bullies. So I want to thank you for being the first to reach out for help. ^^ Sometimes an outsider's opinion can really help make you feel better. So chin up, things do get better. I wish the best for you, your staff, and your sites! And last minute gif:

Reading all these posts really cheered me up. <3
I came home from work resolved to put the site in members only mode. But when I went to check the staff forum (I had been telling them I was wanting to close it), I saw that one of the other staffers had skyped with the troll. Said dicktard left a list of things he wanted changed, and said he would stop trolling if we did them. I'm not gonna lie, he did have some points. But most of the things we'd need to change would result in a lot of people losing characters or having to revamp them. I could see a lot of people leaving over that. Plus, we would have to go into maintenance for a good week or so to fix everything.
So I guess I'm willing to keep EP up (if people even stay after the revamp), but I still want to make the new site. I think I just need something different, with different kinds of people. If the new EP doesn't work out, I can accept it. We had good times. But yeah, I'll see how everything works out.
Thanks, guys~

It doesn't seem like your troll is a random troll. Seems to actually be a current member of your site?
By the way, if someone continuously trolls the cbox, just disable guests from posting in it and stopped registrations? Not sure if you could do that. If not, just remove it.
