When I first started role playing, I wasn't in a happy place in my life at the time. Role playing helped me understand certain things going on in my life, and it also helped me cope. This sounds weird, but I think the biggest draw of role playing for me, besides meeting amazing people and making friends, is the creative control it gives me. Creating something from nothing, like when you make a character for the first time, is really addicting. Role playing and writing in general was the first time anyone ever told me I was good at something, too, so I also got very immersed in being the best I could be.

Hm, I probably roleplay because it's fun. I picked it up from a friend who forced me into his warrior cats site. At the time, and still now, I love cats, and it made him happy, so why not. Later on he grew into a much different person that I couldn't be around, but I still rp because it made me so many friends. I have friends that I met six years ago that I still talk to today. While some are best forgotten, some are best remembered. I enjoyed picking up characters and writing the best I could. While I learn new and better ways of character development and writing in general- it's something that I want to pursue even further. I write because it's fun, but I also write because I make friends doing so... I guess.

It let me live a life that was either to scary to live in real life, to impossible, too magical or not normal enough

I first got in because of a friend and have loved it since then. It's a fun way for fleshing out characters for me though I'm terrible at keeping up with other people since life and school take me away. But it was became a really nice release after getting into college. After stressing from a project or dealing with midtersm/exams, going all out makes it all feel better. And I don't really do much writing in school, mostly just art history papers and art analysis papers. Though rping has helped me to make writing these papers more creativly and funner.

Eight years ago I accidentally stumbled upon a link to a RP site while browsing some video game forums. I ended up joining it because the notion of being able to create a character within the Zatch Bell universe was extremely appealing at the time. Nowadays I am uncertain why I continue to roleplay but I imagine it is to pursue that initial sense of euphoria I experienced way back when.
