i should probably make this a real opening post y/y? this is the thread for character profiles in the freeform snk verse that's boppin' rn. apparently since it's also the general chat/spam thread for the same verse i'm gonna link all the applications in this opening post so you don't have to dig through shit if this place gets out of hand. the numbers are the ages in their app, so since adil's app states 28, that's what i listed. thalia has a range of ages because i've played her at various stages in threads so far, but you can feel free to request flashbacks/flashforwards past what i've listed if you want. thank u based liquid time. MILITARY POLICE:
ADIL VOLKOV, 28
SURVEY CORPS:
THALIA DE LUCA, 18-22* STEFAN, 18-22
THE GARRISON:---CIVILIANS:---*i'm a little gomen about how blatant i was about making the thalia the ace of the survey corps bc i thought this was gonna be a private rp w/ redox but not that sorry bc she's still my stupid baby who is a genius at everything except being human lol

THE END'S NOT NEAR IT'S HERE tell me that you'll open your eyes
his parents had been elites in the scouting legion. stefan still remembers the feelings of resentment that he had for humanity's wings of freedom, up to the day that they left behind meatsacks for the crows to pick at. (they chose to abandon a lone child for such lofty ideals such as dignity and hope, and now they will never earn his forgiveness) now, stefan knows better. he looks back and realizes that he never had a mother and father at all. they were humanity's sword above any other worldly responsibility. shame overcomes him when he thinks about all of that wasted anger and frustration. the rest of his existence is built upon a fragile charity. his situation was nothing new - the losses in the scouting legion meant that orphans were an unfortunate commodity. the other children, how desperately they clung to life, to a salvation that only an adult could bring. stefan had never been the exception, and never wanted to be. he was only one of the many children who were selected for adoption by the wall cult. that day coincided with the day after the king had approved of the construction of wall diana, the project that would never happen. maybe one day, the people will know the true secrets of the walls. for now, the history books only say that the construction of wall diana was foiled many years ago by a small group of titans that lead to the worst titan invasion in living memory. stefan knows better, he knows the fear and confusion that sang to the each of them in turn. there was no leadership, only chaos. the elite squads of the scouting legion were the ones to cut them out of their titan bodies. one third of them were sent off for study by the military police. the other two thirds were distributed evenly among the garrison and the scouting legion. stefan only narrowly avoided his sentencing as a lab rat. instead, he was sent to be a soldier with no chance of joining the military police as an elite. the citizens whisper that there are titan shifters among them, but only the military know exactly who they are. their behavior is constantly monitored by the military -- their cage is omnipresent for as long as they stay within the walls. notes about his titan form appearance: 12 meter type, shoulder length white hair, murky green eyes, physique on the bony side abilities/fighting style: his body is streamlined to sacrifice bulk for speed and control. he is also known to make use of improvised weapons in this form we are the hunters, we are the prey. THE END'S NOT NEAR IT'S HERE — uninstall. Adil Volkov. Male. Age 28. Soldier of the Military Police. Graduated as the top fourth of his batch. Noted to be very industrious and meticulous. Quiet among his peers but very vocal and systematic when taking command, hinting a potential skill in leadership. Serious and easily irritated but rarely lashes out. Keeps emotions and thoughts to himself unless asked. Appears meek and submissive but actually regards himself with plenty of self-esteem and respect. Very sympathetic and is a constant donor in charities. Most noteworthy quality is nobility, both a value and a flaw to a soldier. Very proficient in hand-to-hand combat and is naturally athletic. Grades reveal a weakness in theory. No record of real titan combat but instructions commented recklessness, a surprising twist considering his logical personality. Lives with his mother. His grandfather was a former general, now retired. ELEVEN YEARS AGO "What happened?" she asked, turning to him with a thoughtful frown. "Was your grandfather that unhappy with the results? Why does he care about the ranking so much? He'd never killed a single titan in his life, had he?"
"No, but I'm sure he can, back in his prime."
"But he didn't, not before, not today. It doesn't really matter to me. You know that I don't care what other people decide to do with their lives. I know what I want to do with mine. I've waited five years for it." She turned back to the river but Adil knew her eyes were set high on the walls, gazed with a quietly burning rage. "I'm going to kill every single one of those freaks and finish what my dad started."
A minute of silence followed after her declaration. They allowed it to settle, comfortable, busy with their own thoughts, each secretly different from the other. Kohaku was looking at the cut-off sky, halved by the towering walls with vindication. Adil was looking at Kohaku, but his eyes dropped slowly with dissolving conviction. He squeezed his right hand.
"Having you in the Scouting Legion will be a huge help," Kohaku said. "And though it pains me to say this...honestly, you'd do a better than me. Maybe your grandfather had the right to be angry. You're strong. I've always wished I was as strong as you. No, I wish I was stronger than you, stronger than anyone else, and maybe even stronger than the titans."
"That's not possible. There's only so much strength one person can possess."
"Are you saying if we combine our strength together, we would be able to surpass our individual limits?" Adil didn't answer. "You already know, don't you? We've already tried that. That's what humanity is hoping to happen. But look at us. We're at the brink of extinction."
Kohaku picked up a rock and threw it as high and far as she could in the river. She and Adil watched it soar above the walls and into the auburn sun before it lost altitude, dropping, sinking.
"What if someone like that exists, though? What kind of person would that be, Adil?"
"A god."
Kohaku snorted. Adil rubbed the back of his right hand, quietly contemplating. Kohaku remained silent, waiting for his respond.
"A monster."
"A monster, huh? It has a nice ring to it."
"Don't talk like that."
Kohaku didn't reply. She threw another rock into the river which went in a straighter flight ad a faster descent. She stood there facing the river for a couple more seconds, long enough for Adil to wonder if there was something else she wanted to say, or something she might be waiting to hear...
But when Kohaku turned, Adil knew the next words she was going to say was unrelated to what she had in mind.
"I guess I'll see you in the next expedition then. Would be a waste to see you go to the Military Police."
"Maybe," Adil said. He smiled a bit. "I don't want to hold you back."
Kohaku frowned again. "What are you talking about?"
He hesitated, then he didn't talk at all. Kohaku didn't press it.
"Anyway, I have to prepare dinner. I'll see you later, Adil."
Adil was looking at Kohaku like he wanted to say something. She waited but it seemed as if he'd suddenly gone mute. She left and waved, pretending like nothing had happened. She walked away, never turning back.
Something plopped into the waters. Adil watched Kohaku's form get smaller until it disappeared from his sight. His hands weighed heavily on his sides both of which were unclenched.
A few later, the expedition returned. Kohaku was not among the survivors, but neither was she - not a single hair of her - was among the corpses either. ONE MONTH AGO There was no land to spare for the dead. His wife's corpse was burned to ashes. She had not been eaten by a titan. A man had punched her across the jaw and stabbed her four times with a kitchen knife, killing her. we are the hunters, we are the prey. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

THE END'S NOT NEAR IT'S HERE — won't give you my heart Deadlier than a loaded gun, faster than a speeding bullet. You've never been scared in your life. You were born with a blade in both hands. You can kill a titan blindfolded and handcuffed--you can kill ten titans. You're going to save everyone. We're all going to be okay. We're all going to be okay. That's what they tell each other when they say your name. That's what you tell yourself. Is it almost worth it, if you say it enough times? Is it almost true? You are going somewhere no one can follow. You are becoming a monster in human skin. You are a hero. You are starting to enjoy it. You are their hope. Poetics aside, Thalia has lived an extremely simple life. She never knew her mother. Her father was a traveling merchant who left her to fend for herself, and as years passed, she grew so good at she no longer saw the point of pretending to be his daughter when he returned. She ran away from home and turned half-feral on the streets, until she was hauled in kicking and screaming for mandatory rehabilitation, which was just another name for the military. But in the military, she found her meaning and her truth and her god, which was death and how good she was at dealing it. Maybe she was too good at it. Maybe it didn't matter, as long as there were still titans to kill. And there will always be titans to kill. Like any weapon all Thalia needs is a master, a hand to wield her, and there's nothing she can't accomplish. The top graduate of her trainee class, the ace of the Survey Corps. Her titan kill list is what they use to inspire graduates to pick the survey corps. The girl who kills monsters. All she has to do is make sure she doesn't become a monster--or at the very least, to make sure she's a useful one. — no one lives there anymore
Thalia's personal squad. She kind of does what she wants so i can rp whatever i want but these are the only soldiers under her exclusive direct command even though she has the authority and status to boss people around in general. Mina Esben: They graduated from the same trainee class. Mina was ranked 12th. Blonde and tall (around 5'10), used to be a bit of a sop when she was younger, but the Survey Corps wrings that out of you pretty quick. If you live, at least. Second in command. 17 solo kills, 79 kill assists. Anael Larsson: A fifteen year old recruit fresh out of basic training. Third graduate in her class, and assigned to Thalia's squad to cover a discharge. Her parents both died of a sickness in Wall Maria and she joined the military as a result. Dedicated to her work, makes a lot of hand gestures when she talks, and quiet. Primarily assigned to a support role because of her youth. 4 Titan kill assists. Lucia Rostu: The daughter of a noble family who joined the Survey Corps after she had a near-death experience and renounced her old life. Deeply spiritual, friendly and a bit maternal. 20 years old. 13 solo kills, 24 kill assists. Kain Lahey: The token male member. Very essential definitely not eye-candy. Along with Anael, he is the primary support--but whereas her reason for the role is her youth, Kain's is his experience. Probably the most "book-smart" member of the squad--besides Lucia (and formerly Zeyn as well), he's the only one who can actually read above a fifth grade level. Medical care and tactical expertise dispenser is what he generally functions as. Also designated squad cook. 30 years old. 11 solo kills, 24 kill assists. Zeyn: Ex-member of Thalia's squad. Dishonorably discharged, despite her prodigious talent and extensive service record, for going mad and killing other Survey Corps personnel while on a mission beyond the Walls. Current whereabouts are unknown; she was released into her family's custody, given their influence, but they've passed on no record of what happened to her and deny all Corps attempts to check in on her. 36 solo kills, 63 assists. — Deuteronomy 2:10 A timeline so I can keep things somewhat straight. Birth - 8 years old: Lives with her father. 8 - 15 years old: Feral street urchin in Sina. 15 - 18 years old: mandatory enrollment in the military. Places top in her class, joins the Survey Corps upon graduation. 18 - 20 years old: establishes a reputation or something, kills titans and eats potatoes. 20 years old: Made Squad Leader. Handpicks Kain and Mina to join her squad. Zeyn is assigned to her. They function as a four man team until-- 22 years old: Recruits Lucia for her squad. 23 years old: Zeyn goes off the rails. 24 years old: Anael joins the squad to cover the loss of Zeyn following her discharge. All squad member ages in the previous section are based off the oldest incarnation of Thalia played thus far. Therefore Kain joined her squad when he was 26 and she was 20. Zeyn was 24 when she joined. Mina is the same age as Thalia. And etc. we are the hunters, we are the prey. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE
