Gabriel Howard. Mr. Howards is what most would call your run-of-the-mill human. He is in his mid-thirties, married with three children and works as a High School History teacher. Some call him How-red, for his outstandingly amazing red hair, which gets redder each year. “War,” he told the class, “begins, always, in the night. Silently, secretly. There are no alarms, no sirens and neither sound of artillery nor guns. It starts,” he paused to sweep the class with wide eyes. “With intelligence. Reconnaissance.” No one took notice in the slight differences of Mr. Howard, his gradual interest in wars, human endurance and conditioning. He was a history teacher, after all. And, mostly, no one cared, especially not the students. But, things were amiss in the Howard household – stories for another time. “Class Five,” Sub-Visser Fifteen announced to the others present.
