The man stood by the center of his former stage, his back turned to the empty, high-rise benches obscured in the darkness. The ghosts of the past watched the still man in anticipation, awaiting for one last, bittersweet performance to conclude their long journey together. But standing empty-handed with no light but the gazing full moon and no players but the selected ten Pokemon in his pockets, the memories were to quietly sink down deep inside the chest and dropped in the safe hands of the sea without a tribute - quietly like the ephemeral times. "I'm sorry," Wallace whispered, smiling sadly. His face rose to bathe in the moonlight through the glass ceiling of the dome. He brought his hands up and opened their palms to catch some of the light. He wanted to capture in him the atmosphere of the life that he was about to leave behind, but the longer that he remained, the less he was able to leave. Wallace closed his eyes and turned away. To carry more of the past was to weigh him down with burden he could not bear. It was not the time to be selfish. An approaching dark cloud in the sky seeped the light away until it came right under the moon and shrouded the entire gym into darkness. This was...the right thing. From now on, he would become part of the resistance, the sword of justice swinging behind the shadows, trailing after the light like a stalwart hunter. He could no longer stay blinded by the light while knowing the great darkness it left many of his people in. The light need not to be destroyed; it merely needed to lose some of its might and then, from there, they would rebuild. In order to accomplish this, Wallace was going to join Nox. With a sharp turn, Wallace made his way to the gym's doors, bearing with him the cape of Hoenn's champion. The automatic doors slid open, Wallace still three feet away from them. His eyes widened in shock and all his powers left him at once. "No...why...?"Light from the hallway burst at the doorway, casting one lone shadow that stood between Wallace and Nox, one ghost that Wallace did not want to let go.
