I'VE BEEN THINKING OF DOING THIS THREAD.
I just really like the premise so far. I didn't like it from the first episode. I thought they were making another Zexal series. But when Fusion, Synchro Summon, and all the other summoning came by, I got really excited. Instant sign that they were trying to do something new, because I got really sick of the "introduce new mechanic show's all about new mechanic" premise. It was bad enough that ZeXal was full of fillers and duels - not that I watched it, but it had sooo many new cards. I read through wikia entries and it's all about damn duels. Yuzu's a promising female protagonist and Yuya's character is taking form even when he's not in the center of the episode.
I also get goosebumps from my sig.

tbh i feel like YGO started out as an anime and then it just became a gig to sell cards It actually started out as a story about a childish, game-loving boy who occasionally becomes possessed by a dark spirit in times of danger after he unlocked a strange mystical power from an Egyptian relic that had been the cause of deaths of archaeologists who attempted to unravel its ancient secrets. And then it became a gig to sell cards.

The original story about Yugi didn't even have the cards which is precisely the reason that Season Zero was pretty awesome. I haven't watched Arc V yet because I kinda just said "screw it" after watching three episodes of the failure known as Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXal.

He was also the king of games from the end of season one to whatever season Millenium World was where Yugi beat him at his own game.

Season Zero was pretty badass, as was the original series. I can't help but feel the same about them just making series to sell cards though.
... although, not gonna lie, if someone set up a YGO AU site with the same tech as Arc V, I might actually go for it.
P.S. Pendulum OP

I hope Yuya loses.
That way, we'd also get an Academia arc and that won't be so bad considering all the potential duels we're going to see.

I'm necrobumping this thread- but I'm curious everyone's thoughts on it since it's come out with a few more episodes. I do like that they're focusing on all the different summonings. Also I love Yuya way too much for my own good honestly. Also, HIS MOTHER IS ACTUALLY IN THE EPISODES. Not a lot- but THERE IS A ACTUAL STORY WITH HER. Since I've watched all of the series but Zexal, this amazes me and I'm really pleased.

Starry Neko I was about to necrobump this - THIS NEXT EPISODE IT IS HAPPENING I just caught up to 34. SO YUYA. THIS IS PLOT. IT CAUGHT UP TO YOU. I WANNA KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. Also I find it that always the cute ones have the most freaking weird faces that look like their eyes are going to fall out of their head. They aren't Nicolas Cage- they can stop that crap- seriously. I actually enjoy how they're writing this so far. I actually want to /know/ what's going to happen. Also is it just me or does it sometimes break the flow of the anime to sometimes see the really obvious 3D model shoved in there? It's not so much the monster- but when you catch Yuya or another duelist it just looks so drastically different for a brief moment. Also apparently LDS is MIB. Memory erasers are common technology for future cities.
