The Positions!:
All the canon slots should be filled by original characters. The plot operates under the assumption that the original sailor senshi couldn't be awakened. In addition, both senshi and knights have access to both emotions and elements, but senshi are stronger at using elements and knights are stronger at use emotions.

Mercury Senshi
The senshi and guardian knight of Mercury are capable of summoning the power of water in all three of it's forms to achieve their goals. While historically, the powers of Mercury were used to mislead, conceal, and otherwise support their allies, the strength of Mercury can just as easily summon it's strength to defeat an enemy, if their personas compel it. The emotional power of Mercury can grant great Insight in the questions and mysteries of humanity, while the negative side of it can impose feelings of false knowledge in their victim.

Knight Emotion of Influence: Insight/Delusion
Venus Knight
The Light of Venus shines as a beacon of strength and warmth for their friends, while producing a blinding light of Justice against evil. The guardians of Venus may use the element of Light to protect the innocent in the form of focused light or blinding flashes. They also hold a secondary influence over metal, which can support their potent light powers. The warmth of Venus produces unparalleled Love in all living things, while the shadow of Venus can produce unnaturally intense hatred that can overwhelm.

Mars Senshi
The ardent guardians of Mars can call forth the primal flame to burn away evil wherever it strikes. The flame of Mars burns brightest of all, as the heat and flame force all who would harm the Sol System to pause in in trepidation, fearful of their demise. The energies of Mars can produce intense passion in those around them, while the darker side of Mars can call forth rage in even the most serene individual.

Jupiter Senshi and Knight
Jupiter's mighty guardians summon forth the storm to stun, shock, and otherwise overwhelm the forces of darkness with extreme prejudice. The full strength of the thunderstorm may be called forth at once to blast away evil. The Jupiter representatives also hold a secondary influence over wood and natural plants. The human aspect of Jupiter can compel inspiration of great inventions and ideas that history will long remember, while the dark side of Jupiter can compel vain thoughts to overwhelm the mind.

Saturn Knight
Saturn holds the guardians of the cycle of destruction and rebirth. Perhaps, they are some of the more powerful guardians in terms of raw destructive ability, which can be used to completely annihilate their foes. However, use of that much force always comes at a cost. While they have the power to take so much away, they can also rebuild, bringing along a brighter, better future. The energies that they call upon can serve to invigorate a populace, but the darker side can make them complacent and sloth-like.

Uranus Senshi and Knight
The guardians of Uranus hold a powerful sway over the winds and the air, using them to combat the evils that try to invade the Sol System. Capable of impressive feats of acrobatics and even short burst flight, few can match the agility of the experienced guardian of Uranus. Many a foe has fled from the typhoon like power of their magic. The guardians of Uranus often exhibit an air of confidence about them and those they call friend, while they are capable of twisting their opponents to arrogance and then opening themselves for the final blow.

Sailor Senshi...
A phrase unheard of in this day and age. The female soldiers whom were once destined to deliver the Earth from chaos never came about.In their absence, the world descended into a desperate battle against the forces of darkness and evil. Day by day, the balance fades ever closer into total chaos.
The forces of the Covenant of the Nihil, a following of former humans tainted by a mysterious and dark power, gradually corrode the earth, empowered by mysterious structures known as the obelisks. As a result, the world has descended into an ice age as the sun's warmth dims and becomes clouded by the realities of war and dark magic's influence.
Japan, fortunate by it's location as an island state, represents the strongest remaining power in the world of a free people. While the Covenant has made their attacks, the brave military forces of Japan have thus far held the cult at bay allowing the populace to live in relative security and wellness.As a result of such fortune, survivors all over the world with the means to do so make their way to Japan, to live a life as normal possible amid the frozen world.
However, the shadow shall soon fall upon the lands of Japan...the Covenant's full force will come to bear upon the grand nation.
...and the only hope of survival, are the Sailor Senshi and their Guardian Knight counterparts, destined to finally awaken after their long slumber.

Greater Russia now stands free from the influence of God and the Devil, and all non-humans run the risk of execution.
