Okay, so i've gotten this weird mash up of ideas from playing Dishonored and then playing Tales of Symphonia right after that and getting mood whiplash. Basically, the idea is this pretty traditional fantasy world with magic and elves and world tress and that sort of thing, but having it so that the world is beginning to develop coal and steam technology. Then, after that adding in some supernatural stuff, in the form of an immortal demon from the edge of time granting supernatural powers to people. Also theres a bit of a pinch of alice and wonderland in theIr (because i had a steampunk wonderland rp idea that never got off the ground and i want to reuse some of that.) wrote up a bit of a formal summary, so here that is.
Anyway, thats pretty much all I got. Let me know if this is something that might interest you. I'm really looking for someone who i can bounce ideas of off and help be build the site, so if you would like to do that, let me know.
Millennia ago, the world was dying. A catastrophic war had dried the planet of all its resources. Everything was on the brink of collapse. But, a tree was planted, a very special tree. This particular tree would produce an nearly unlimited amount of mana, as long as the tree survived. The world bounced back from it’s near destruction. In the celebration of the planting of the Great Tree, the two nations called a truce.
That would not be the last time they fought, though no other war would nearly be on it’s scale. The two countries took different forms over the millennia, and grew large with the new limitless supply of Mana. Their current incarnations are Lahsellia and Freynndar. Lahsellia, a kingdom, ruled by a monarchy, populated primarily by elves; and Freynndar, a democratic nation, populated by humans, and overseen by a president, and advised by a panel of elders. While the two are currently at peace, it is a manufactured peace, one ensured by a Council of Angels, 7 people granted immortality to watch over the world. The Council has pulled strings since the planting of the Great Tree.
The members are not the same as the ones from then, with one exception. As the members lived longer and grew tired of immortality, they chose successors, and then returned to their natural lives. Currently in it’s ninth iteration, things have not become any less difficult then they were at the council’s inception.
Technology has risen in the last century. The ability to use Mana to power machinery has been lost to the ages, so man has found another solution. Coal. If the world continues to go in this direction, the pollution caused by the use of coal could cause the Great Tree to wither and die, dooming this planet to die. Tensions between Lahsellia and Freynndar have begun to rise again. People are hungry for war. And with newly built machines, this could be a war on the scale of the ancient war of legend. And most curiously, Certain people have begun to exhibit… abilities. Ones that can not be derived from Mana. These abilities Come from a much darker source.
