I honestly think my favourite part of the whole series was Celty's development. In the beginning, I saw her as a bit off, that she didn't fit in the series. But as it went on, she matured and just became this amazing female lead; from, in a sense, deciding to become human, and essentially taking on the role of one of the city's guardians. How it changed from her head becoming the main point of her life, to it becoming just a platform for what she truly was; for who she was supposed to be. A god personified, a legend turned mortal.
Same with Anri; they managed to merge her personality flawlessly, and the explanation of her relationship with Saika just made her whole as a character to me. Just, this anime's character development as a whole has managed to get my attention unlike anything else I've watched thus far.

I love Celty omg. And Shinra. He's so right for her even if it was really an asshole move to know where her head was the whole time and not tell her, but I understand completely why he did it. It really helped Celty become the amazing character she is. And omg Anri. Her whole character was such a mystery to me until the Saika arc (which was admittedly pretty creepy at first until things started coming together) but this anime definitely gave me two female anime characters I loved. Normally I hate them because they're whiny, or useless, or too much of an obvious love interest in a male lead, but I loved these two because of what a genius the creator whosnameescapesmeatthismoment was.
oh Anri x Mikado is probably the cutest thing I think I've ever liked as a canon pairing omg ;;

I just need to say this but the thing I can't stand about drrr is that IT ENDS. The series is actually based off of light novels. There is a translation of it on livejournal out there, but it's terribly done and super boring to read and makes cry and wonder 'is this really the glorious spine-tingling thing that is drrr?' and it sucks. The manga is hardly done up to where the anime ends.
This is why characters like Vorona never even come out in the anime. Really now, I want to know what else happens :c Durarara!! was the most complex things Japan has ever made!

i remember hearing about durarara!! for the first time because of someone tagging a post on tumblr as 'shizaya'. it wasn't a very descriptive post though, and all it did was make me curious. plus i thought 'shizaya' was just one character and that the name was cool, so basically i was like 'ohhh who's that'.
so i went through the 'shizaya' tag on tumblr-
i'm really happy nobody was in the room when i did.
and yup that was how i found out about durarara!!
