casual shipping is fun, because there are definitely some kids that I think really match a certain father even though those stats... don't work too well
vaike and owain just scream for each other in my mind idek
but yeah someone throw a fe:a rp at me please thank you

SIFR On my first play-through, I chose hard (and casual, because I thought I'd be casual), freaked the fuck out when I realized that hard was actually pretty hard, and decided to grind before I hit Ch4--literally by spending an entire week with my 3DS on and checking for skirmishes every few hours. I very quickly hit A-rank with Frederick, and then was like, okay, let's hit S. And then I married Frederick. Before Ch4. And in the next scene he was talking about how he still didn't trust me for shit. That was awkward. As an aside, even on hard, you can really do whatever you want for marriages. If you're in a tough spot, just stop and grind Robin, and Robin ought to be able to clear the entire map. It's not really the funnest way to play the game, but it works. A second aside, for the rest of this thread, we will probably be singing praises to Our Lord and Savior Galeforce. It's the best. On Lunatic, it's really nice to kill a guy (who will counter you for like all your health), and then run like fuck. After the campaign, in Apotheosis and in Streetpass, GF is only a top-tier filler skill. You just can't one-shot things anymore. Plus, for units that do most of their damage on the enemy turn--by which I mean, tanks--don't need Galeforce at all, although it's still handy. Anyway. GALEFORCE MASTER RACE. :l ETA: Gregor!Owain is my favorite Owain. But I ship Cherche/Gregor. But I don't like redhead Gerome. Woe is me.

Dude if I had staff for KoC, I'd reopen it as a "smaller board" type site, I miss that place and it actually was pretty good for an FE:A RP, I mean what
I'm going to toss these links in since they save my butt. Skill List, Master Seal Reclass list, Starting Class sets, and Gender-specific Class Conversions. They are your friends for building units, not to mention that on the last two, if you look around, there is a stat checker.
Okay some things to note for important skills: Galeforce and Counter are two of the most desirable gender-specific classes. Galeforce can be reached through female classes that can get pegasus knight - aka Olivia, Sumia, Lissa, Maribelle, Cordelia, and fem!MU. Counter can be reached through male classes that get barbarian or fighter - aka Henry, Gregor, Vaike, Gaius, Donnel, and male!MU. That means that if you want these skills, prioritize for them to be passed down to children of the opposite gender; you can also get some combinations for parents that result in the right classes, such as a Tharja/Gaius Noire that can get Galeforce.
Basically the best way to do units is to figure out what you can get on them with the classes they already have, then fill in the blank skill spots with what you want to get for them via their father. A good example is my current Severa - I could get three of the five breakers on her, and to get the last two, I needed Wyvern Rider for the father. Frederick's already married, so that leaves Virion and Lon'qu. I liked Virion's hair better, so I picked Virion and I do not regret it, five breaker Severa is the most hilarious unit.
My brother and I play it to beat each other up on StreetPass, and he recommends that you get at least one healing skill and one activation skill on all units minus "gimmicks" like five breakers. As far as the rest of the pairings go, like I said - pair Chrom and Sumia up with first choice since they can only marry a few people, marry yourself to either improve a class or give Morgan super stats/classes (Walhart or Tiki/Nowi are popular options), and build a plan based around what you think works. I actually recommend only pairing Chrom up and then building the pairs up after you unlock the option to start recruiting since then if you don't save you have the option to simply reset and try again if the stats/skills don't work out right.

Additional notes on useful skills:
Armsthrift. It comes from the Mercenary class, and it's important because Aversa's Night. You can only get it from shiny tiles; it heals you half your damage; it's comparable to legendary weapons; unlike legendary weapons, it can be forged, making it the strongest tome in the game. Basically, it's every sorcerer tank's wet dream. MU and Morgan are great sorcerer tanks, but otherwise I like Laurent for that job. Marry Gregor to Miriel, and you can have Vantage, Armsthrift, Tomefaire/Limit Breaker, Wrath, and Vengeance. For a kid without galeforce, it doesn't really get scarier.
Otherwise, I don't have Infinite Regalia, and I prefer not to grind golden gaffe forever to afford forging all my brave weapons, so I like Armsthrift on any character I give a legendary weapon. If you don't mind the gold grind, forged brave weapons are far better than legendary weapons anyhow though. At the end of the day, it's only Aversa's Night that demands Armsthrift.
Vantage. Myrmidon, attack first on enemy turns if you're below 50% HP. Helpful for not dying on squishier dps units, essential on tanks. It's up to you whether you want to combine it with Vengeance (to do even more damage since you're at half hp anyway) or Sol (heals you).
Renewal/Sol/Life Drinker. Your self-healing options, because your staff-users are probably too busy Rescuing people to actually heal them, and lord knows your attackers should not be spending their turn drinking an elixir. Renewal is the most reliable, healing 30% at the start of your turn without fail. Sol is a %skill trigger and works like Nosferatu/Aversa's Night; I love it during midgame, but on the long run, I'd rather have a damage-increasing trigger skill (i.e., Luna) than Sol. Arguably, Sol is excellent on tanks, for them to stay topped off during enemy turns. Life Drinker heals 50% after you kill a unit. Life Drinker/Galeforce combo during the campaign is beautiful. In situations where GF is useless (streetpass+apo), so too is Life Drinker.

also if anyone here hasn't played sacred stones (or has!!) there's a really cool patch that just got released for it! lizzledpink.tumblr.com/post/88714990211 it beefs up eirikas route a lot and adds some cool f/f options to the story and i highly rec it, even if you've played the game b4. the link also tells you how to play a gba rom on your computer if you don't know how #shamelesspimping

honestly, my best friend loves sacred stones, but god. im just so indifferent to the whole fe series its like. the lack of fucks i give is equal to all the love for suikoden that tanz has. ... if only i had the heart to say that out loud, until then time to rep Joshua X killing edge & Great Knight Franz.
