I'm not looking for staff members. I'm looking for a writing team to create the setting. You don't have to join the site once it opens. You will simply be credited appropriately.
Description: I'm working on a freeform site based on a certain series. Its primary setting is based on Asian countries, specifically Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Anything can change during the progression of the work but for now, that is the list that we'll be working on. I need researchers/writers who will be able to work on each country. I've already gotten someone to work on Turkey. I'll obviously be working on the Philippines. I have some knowledge on Nepal, but it would be great if someone else took that country too. Thailand is a pretty staple part of the setting while Saudi Arabia may be a tentative choice.
Details of work: The setting will not really affect the plot. But I want to pour in effort into the setting without making it complex. Since the countries are not of the mainstream either, it would be important to be able to give a rundown of its culture and history as well. I like having complete information in the site. Complete and helpful.
Theme: There are two themes in the site: idealism and postmodernism. In the site, people are fighting in a secret war and there is a point system that allows people to gain Honour and Glory, and then an option to choose Ideal. The point system have no significant effect. Rather, they are a reflection/symbol of the struggle for victory in the war. When choosing Ideal, it is harder to gain points to resonate with the fact that fighting for an ideal is the harder road.
The second theme has something to do with certain players in the rp, people who are challenging tradition while at the same time, hoping to maintain balance. This is the more important aspect of the research. I want the setting to suggest or to provoke thoughts of postmodernism. For example, in the Philippines, there exists a growing struggle between islands and the questioning of national identity. A country has a LOT of issues but I expect one current issue to stand out and be used for literary purposes.
Format: Although these countries and issues are real, the places you'll be making will be fictional. You may of course make reference to real areas (is probably expected that you do.) The locations you'll be making may cover a number of cities over a certain region in the country.
Contact: Skype.
Duration: I won't be able to open this site until I graduate, which is in 2 months so we have that long. But I'll be expecting that we communicate at least every week. I won't bug you but I'd like to check on what you have every now and then.
Others: There are several fictional elements that may affect the setting because of the series it's based from. And then that's it. If you're interested, PM or post me.
