PERIODIC TABLE PERSONIFIED? Supernatural Powers Based on Elements?

I'm open to any and all ideas, preferences, or suggestions you may have for the site, so feel free to reply to this thread or send me a pm!
→ The Setting Post Apocolypic? Possibly with some futuristic mix ins technology wise to make things a bit more interesting. Probably set in an overall 'world' / continent where the biggest area being a city, then including some smaller towns / outposts and then open lands. The population will be a mix of element personified humans (maybe some animals as well?) and average ones. Definitely not humans vs. Elements, but there will probably be some elements overtly fond of 'humans', indifferent ones, and ones less than fond of them. Though the conflict will be present in all groups.
→ Groups & Races Element Personified Humans and Normal Humans for sure, possibly animals as well.
Groups | Update: So I'm thinking maybe (stress on maybe) having groups based on the groups the elements are divided into. So Noble Gasses, Metals, Non-Metals - but it depends on if I don't think of better groups XD
→ The Plot For the most part I'd like he site to be member driven, but there will probably be site wide 'mini plots' to further world building and offer some cool rewards as well. More than likely there will definitely be one when the site opens, to give people something to start off with!
Canons | Update: There will probably be a few Prewritten "canons" on the site. Mainly as a bit of world building. Itll probably include maybe one per group, so one element personified, one normal human, one personified animal, & one normal animal. Though it may be less or more per group depending on the first mini plot.
→ Items & Resources Since its will probably be a post apocoliptic world, there will probably some cool item collection, possibly to purchase some item upgrades. Perhaps using 'scraps' as a general "exp" collection item to build items like weapons and armor. Then actual currency (maybe called 'ions' for fun) to buy character perks and stuff like that.
Exploration | Update: Character will be rewarded for exploring the world. Threads tagged 'exploration' will offer rewards based on quality and number of posts. Rewards will range from money to other more obscure items like enhanced weapons.
Currency | Update: Ions will be basic currency, used to buy extra character slots, 'elixirs', and other base items like that. Scraps will be the 'exp' collect. They will be used to "craft" armor, weapons, and even vehicals.
Bonding | Update: Bonding will allow personified elements to mix abilities. So if a fire ability is bonded with a water ability both could now have a steam ability for example.
→ Combat System? Since I wanted it to be a 'supernatural power' RPG, I'm sure there'll be combat. It'll probably be turn based, focusing mainly on strategy with very basic stat values as accents to make it easier. Definitely nothing complex.
Turnbased | Update: After thinking about it more, stats are pretty unnessisary and would just add confusion. So, the combat will be entirely turn based where the main focus is strategy. Reviews of combat threads will probably be done by a staff review group - in which votes will determine who actually won.

I thought you didn't want to deal with stats, and just wanted a relaxful almost comedy Rp with bit of action.
Otherwise, I am bouncing up and down with excitement with everything you have came up with. I call a penguin personification, already got a faceclaim.
Oh what happens when two elements get together or "bonded"? would they make some sort of personified compound? or?

Eh, I may not end up doing stats at all, combat may just end up being entirely turn based XD Its much more likely than me going through making a stat system again XD Ive been thinking about this XD when two elements come in contact: - stronger elements will drain elements of the same type. - Other contacts will result in a mixing of abilities between the two. (If that makes sense) XD Ill need to flush it out a bit more, but that's that basic idea. I'm also trying to figure put the # of element personifieds they'll be per element (probably one each, aside from a few special ones) XD

Maybe do events were members earn the right to rp a certain element? That or I am misunderstanding what you're saying Also bit off from site idea, will there be original elements for holidays? Like Valentines: element of love -bit of a stretch, randomly thought of it now-

Like Valentines: element of love -bit of a stretch, randomly thought of it now- Well I was thinking since some elements are natural doubles like oxygen (O2) that some could start off being dual XD so there would be two oxygen personified people XD but that may be a stretch XD Actually that's an interesting idea XD iI hadn't really thought about that before - its definitely something I could considure XD

idk if i'm running too much with the chemistry aspect and if i'm being too much of a little chem shit here, but i think it'd also be cool to have an aspect that includes the stability of elements - like how noble gases are the most stable because their valence shells are filled and how alkali metals are reactive af etc
are you also going to have like, anions and cations or just the straight neutral elements???

Stability will probably play a big part in an elements personality and power (ie. Unstable elements won't have as much control over it as stable ones). I have to hammer out the concept further though XD That's an interesting question actually. I could probably find a way to work it in - I'd have to do some more research of course, but it could probably play a part in power and or bonds XD

for what it's worth, I think the noble gas / metal / non-metal groups could be super cool. especially if the powers are going to be based on activity, etc, it could be a nice way of organization for those who are a little less... knowledgeable about actual chemistry. ahha.
