lol so I came home for mothers' day and left my laptop (a macbook which I got earlier this year) charger at home. subsequently i've been using my old laptop / pc for the first time in a long while, and realized that all these skins i've done on my mac look completely different (color / shades-wise). I don't know if its that macs are just really amazing at processing colors or just do it differently, but something needs to be done. LOL. like this GS skin is fucking blinding on a PC when it's not on my mac, and the bg pattern is nonexistent on a PC when it's really really obvious / clear on my mac. also I thought I made a skin in yellow when everyone else saw green and katya sent me a colorblind test- lol something needs to be done guys. or i can never skin again. idfk does someone else who skins / codes have a mac?? DOES ANYONE WHO RPS HAVE A MAC? WHAT DO I DO CAN I ADJUST THE SETTINGS SOMEHOW? MAC USERS WHERE U AT HELP ME my mac is making me comparatively colorblind someone help meSIFR PHARAOH LEAP pascaline SEADRA

REIT that's actually what I tried after the yellow/green skin debacle :c i've already calibrated it multiple times. and if my mac sees more contrast between the white of the forum area and the grey of the bg pattern isn't my contrast better than ones that don't? or maybe not, idfk anything about anything ugh this is making me increasingly sad bc what about my templates then

minnieNot better, just higher. A good way to check how well your monitor is display is to look at these display images. If your contrast is too high or low, it won't look like a clear progression. Unfortunately, color is a bit harder to test. The yellow/green thing just sounds weird, while the other thing just seems like your contrast might be a bit higher than average.

Pasc and I both use PC. Not sure about Leap.
If it helps, most of your templates don't have low-contrast, but remember how Pasc and I would always tell you to turn up the contrast of font vs bg sometimes?... now you know? -sweats-

I use Mac and the skin looks fine to me. The BG pattern looks like neat little squares, not sure if that's what was intended or not. I don't code or skin though so I'm not sure if I can help?

I am on a Macbook Air! And to me as well, the skin looks fine. Older computers, I think, don't process colors as well as the newer ones. When you get your mac charged back up, for giggles sometime go to your system preferences and click display, then color. Click through the list on the left. When I do on mine, it seems that the colors are incredibly muted-- the other things on the list seem like they make everything so blue. The differences are so frickin dramatic o.o'

i have a mac and i've noticed this difference in terms of monitor coloring/contrast/brightness w/e and it's kinda annoying but
shit always looks 1000000x better on mac screens so maybe skin on a pc so u can see it on a mac and feel gratified or
forget pc exists and ignore the problem (y)

i actually had a similar problem with Face's skin, a member asked me to have the older skin available for use since the current was so bright, when it wasn't *that* bright to me, personally, nor had anyone else i showed it to when i was working on it made a comment on it being too bright.
it is a pc/mac issue - on the previous winter-y skin for Face the colors looked ENTIRELY different on pc, i skinned it on mac (the creams were more yellow than white, etc.). mac's default settings are very different than a pc's default settings, or even the settings they're capable of (unless you have a super quality pc).
that could be because my pc was older and the white balance / contrast was already screwed up (i have always had a problem with that) - but yeah. i would just be super conscious of colors between bgs and titles and stuff, taking care not to make them too close together because they may not be that visible on other screens. idk i hate cross-browser-computer type-whatever skinning, it's the bane of my existence. not to mention that it doesn't solve the problem of i see the background but it actually makes my eyes swim a little if i'm not actively trying to ignore it and focusing on the content
and i'm on a brand new pc laptop
