Odd title but it will do.
So, my discussion this time is this: what is that one character that you will never forget? Do you have a character, whether a current 'cast member' of your little crew, or a retired one, that you will never forget? Tell us what they're like (hell, you can even copy paste their profile template if you want) and why you will never forget them. What their story is, if they lingered long enough to have one, and whether or not you'd ever put them into play again.
Story time!

I dunno, I can't forget a single one of my characters because I'm the type who repeatedly plays the same OC all over again. There are several non-prominent chars I've made but they're few enough I wouldn't forget. But that's literally forgetting so that doesn't count.
I guess if there's one character I would never ever forget and is *THE ONE* then it would be Joshua Wind. Most people associate me with Shamees but my pride and joy would be Joshua Wind (and maybe Wallace).
Joshua is a polite, easy-going introvert who wants to live life simply. When he was fourteen, he gave in to "selfishness" and embarked on a trainer journey when he had sworn to follow on his parents' footsteps and become a ranger. He has a strained relationship with his little brother though Joshua still acts very fondly of him anyway.
(edit: excuse the terrible English I swear I don't write like this in real writing)
His strained relationship with his brother was as a result of his troubled childhood. Joshua's desire to live simply was also a result of what happened in the past and what kind of person he was before. Joshua is in fact a prodigy but is dyslexic as well, which had gone off without being diagnosed. Though he excelled greatly in math, he failed in other subjects and was ridiculed for being unable to read (though Joshua is simply a very slow reader.) He was very proud as a kid and had a great deal of self-awareness already. He really wanted to leave their snowy, remote village and get to a better school in the capital but his parents weren't supportive of the idea. They were living a simple life and his parents weren't as impressed with his intellect because of his arrogant attitude.
Even though he was mature and pompous, he still longed to be accepted and recognized by his parents. And though he was very proud, even he caved in to insecurity. Joshua ran away from home in hopes of getting his parents' attention. But he also had this spiteful side that wanted to give them more trouble and all the hatred that accumulated made him lose sight of logic. He released the Gyarados the rangers had recently captured to have it destroy the village and kill everyone. But of course the moment the Gyarados came out, it set its sight on him. Joshua lost his memory of the incident. He woke up and was only told that his parents were killed during the incident. His brother, believing that he had did it intentionally (which he sort of did), blamed him for their deaths.
Joshua had turned over a new life. He is always seen smiling and had the patience of a saint, but he remained to have a dangerously spiteful side and his experience during his childhood stayed with him. He hated being made fun of, though he would mostly try to just made a joke out of it; and he still craved for dominance and pride, that's why he considered it selfish when he decided to become a trainer. He knew he was still secretly very competitive and thought of himself better than others. To become a trainer was to indulge his old self that he left behind.
The other part of Joshua was his cowardice. By his code of living life simply, he hated being involved. But he won't turn away when someone is in need. Joshua would rush in to help immediately. On the outside, seeing him like that seemed like he's such a kind guy but Joshua just doesn't want to feel responsible. He's not aware of this himself but this was another effect of his traumatized past. He feels that he is at fault for everything bad that happens around him that's why he can't help but act.
Joshua's complexity and struggle to get over his past mistakes is why I love him. And I cannot forget him because all these things actually happened in roleplaying, not just in my head. They developed from one point to another. I haven't RPed him for a really long while and I think he really needs the exposure again. I can't just play him anywhere though. I'll have to find the right Pokemon site to continue his story. So yeah, definitely playing him again.
I really love Joshua. I might have said this before already but it's all thanks to Jinari Region that he became such a humane character. He's not some sort of angst guy with a big, very general principle in life or had some sort of extreme hatred / issues. He wants to live a simple life but he's struggling to heal from past wounds that surface to his character subconsciously. I feel sad for him :<

My favorite character ever was called Laith Farazi and he was originally on Tellius (in the original area, not the FE side). He was born a chronomancer, which means he was one of the few and the powerful. He was born with the ability to control time. Chronomancers in this world were either murdered or sent to a magical facility called Moltero because they were so powerful that they could alter the whole world. Laith was one of those sent to Moltero because his mother feared him and his father hated him. Laith grew up in the cold, sterile environment, where his magic was tested and inhibited to make sure he couldn't harm the world or its people.
Eventually, with an inhibitor snapped around his neck, Laith was allowed to leave Moltero but he had to report back every set amount of days. His inhibitor would buzz when it was time and if he didn't go back, his life was threatened. Laith chose to spend his time dancing and entertaining. One day, a mysterious man came and found him, then persuaded him to join his rebel group which opposed the Queen. Laith joined him because that man was his father and some small part of him craved love from his parents.
Laith met his half brother along the way and they were so cute together. Laith finally had a family member in his life who loved him. There were a lot of other things going on in his plots and I really missed playing him so I migrated him over to PTU. But I still miss his past self...

I think a lot of people would recognize this character since I take her EVERYWHERE.
The one for me is a little plot baby that spawned during a skype conversation about robots, androids, and innuendoes. Her name is Viktoria Luxierre and her fc is always and forever will be C.C.
She's basically a classy tramp, with a thirst for knowledge, almost always accompanied by her Olde-English speaking side-kick named Mercutio (he's been a Mechabot, a Motorbike, and an in-game mount as far as I can remember). She's just so fun to play and the possibilities with her are just so endless. I just feel, though, that nowadays it should be time to close her book and actually give her a conclusion that would be worth remembering.
She's always my strongest muse, and I don't really know how to top her unless I go psycho with my other characters xD

There is no "retiring" from RP; only extended breaks.

Ok, so. Wow. There's so many! But one I most definitely miss is Dimitria. she was a young adult but most importantly, she was an artist. And she was such a sarcastic smartass who was obsessed with batman. love all my characters, but she was special to me. Mostly because I saw a lot of myself in her, and I just wanted to watch her grow. It was exciting to write her because in a way, I'd speak through her.
Normally, I'm always biting my tongue. There's so much I wanna say but don't because I fear making things worse, or hurting the person at the receiving end of my words. But with Dimitria, I didn't have to do that. She spoke exactly what was on her mind and did exactly what she wanted without a care in the world. My little rebel. she brought me a sense of freedom, ya know? I'd say it's weird, but I'm sure we've all felt that way toward something we've created.
I didn't end up writing her for long because reasons, and I tried to revive her elsewhere, but. .. I don't know. her story was too important for me to replace anyone who was in it. Like, i couldn't rewrite her to fit in in any other plot i came up with because it wasn't her. It just wasn't the same. It felt wrong to continue her anywhere else, so I retired her and now I've got her on a nice shelf in my heart. I still write her from time to time in one-shots that'll never be published. I guess i kinda been using her as my makeshift diary lol. And honestly, as weird as it sounds, she's helped me out a lot. <3

Pretty much the character people say that just permanently associate me with: my Katya Chirkov. Writing posts for her is always pretty much effortless; there's never ever an issue of not having enough muse because having to do a reply for her just generates energy all by itself. Personally I think she's the least likable and least pitiable of all the characters I've ever made, essentially the woman version of aloof, gruff, emotionally stunted MANPAIN. I really don't feel sorry for all messed up things that happen to her through plotting, but in the end she's the most interesting for me to write with. This is a character that sassed back at a literal prophet of God, and told another angel to gtfo while wearing only her boyfriend's shirt. LOL
She definitely changed a ton from how I initially thought of how she'd be, which was more of a despicable, not-really-redeemable scumbag sort of character. One thing I'm always wary of is playing her in a way that begs for forgiveness for actions that are really toxic, and it always hurts to be true to character when it means lashing out against characters that are much more optimistic about her than she should be!!!! But yeah, part of what makes this character so memorable to me is just how much she's developed over the course of two plus years, and how that's reflective of a collaborative story telling process where other people's characters have a deep and lasting impact beyond what I initially thought possible.

I'm sure that there's gonna be disagreement on this just because of what I've done in the past. Probably the one character that will always stick with me is Alexander Kain, who uses Sasuke as an fc. Alexi is just... I've done him at so many sites it's not even funny and he sticks with me. I've seen him get up and stand past so many things, inwardly and outwardly. I've watched him fight and fall in love and spit in his father's face rather than allow himself to be walked all over and I just... I made him back at a time when some little part of me was in all my characters and he got a huge chunk.
I love watching him smile now with his baby Eevee stuffed down his shirt and calling him Mama. It makes me very happy on so many levels. I'd actually lost him for about six months before he came back and I found out his jerk brother wasn't half of a jerk and just... the happiness I felt at having him back in rotation made me happy. He started out as this Zebstrika Gijinka and he's come so far and been through almost all of my sites with me so he's just... my one. He's my one to the point where I will walk away from a site if someone else uses his fc simply because that's how I'm used to seeing him and I can't imagine anyone else with him.
The only reason he is up for debate as my one is because there's a hell character I made early on in my rp career that everyone remembers. Everyone. Her name was Terra and she was a Flareon Gijinka. At the age of seventeen, she had the maturity of a six year old, and that's being generous. She believed in Santa Claus... but after a Delibird attacked her Eevee, she became convinced he was evil and drove a "woodchipper pulled by chainsaws" and remained convinced she was in a war against him. She loved Eevees and she had a little crybaby one, one that thought it was a trainer, a lazy one that slept all the time, and one that was in love with her. Add to that the fact that she thought she was related to all Eeveelution Gijinkas and just... I loved playing her, if only because she was so innocent and childish and free and silly.
My friends still hate me for her and it's been three years since I made her, probably around one and a half to two since I played her, but they do not forget.
