I'm a huge MMO fan, and have been for quite some time and I love to play all sorts. I even download a bunch just to try and generally end up uninstalling most.
But what are your favorite MMOs? Perfect World International was a favorite of mine until the influx of packs and the better gear could be bought with RL cash rather than working for it, not to mention class breaks and massive glitches that went unfixed.
I also currently play Guild Wars 2 and I'm hanging onto Black Desert for when that comes out.
I'm not trying to scope out other games people mention to mass download and try, nope.

I've heard lots of good things about Final Fantasy 12. I keep wanting to play the stupid thing, but unfortunately, my five year old laptop can't handle it. *sobs*
The MMO I keep coming back to though is probably DMO, otherwise known as Digimon Masters Online. I love the game, I just go in large binges since usually RP > games by a long way. Plus it's actually a fairly good Digimon format. You can get to things without dumping money into the game (and there's some good promos every now and again) but it makes the whole thing a lot easier with advancing and hatching.
The only other one still on my computer is Spirit Tales, but we don't speak about that phase in when my friends and I were all dorks on it.

I've tried a couple FF games, including the FFXIV MMO but the fighting was a little lack luster for me after playing Tera and GW2. I'm trying out Aura Kingdom again, I played it during beta but never got anywhere.
I don't think I've tried any Digimon sites though, I tried a Shin Megami Tensei though probably as somewhat close to digimon as I've gotten

I'm more of a casual gamer at best simply because I tend to get bored if I can't play with my friends. And I'm not much of a computer gamer to begin with. So I usually only hit things like that when I can play with friends, and since it's a five year old laptop.... I do tend to be pretty limited.
DMO is pretty fun. I go in binges when I get Digimon feel. I still haven't uninstalled it and I play even though it takes my computer for a real ride since I technically don't meet minimum requirements anymore the only things that I still do that I play aren't MMOs so I do like it. It's also one where when I do play, I don't always have to be on with my friends, so there's that too since most of the time I need a friend to play with otherwise I get bored.
Quests are good for solo play, but if you have friends on the same server, it's good since then you can train easier with partying and using boosters. The money aspect mainly comes in with Digiaura to digivolve until you push them down or up rather than until you can't keep them up that high with your Tamer, getting larger Digimon, not crying when the eggs break, getting evoluters/items since they're hard to unlock otherwise, and occasionally buying data. Sometimes there's a promotion that's a special Digi or evolution you can only get from buying, but other than that...

Personally, my hands-down favourite is Forsaken World, probably because I played it almost religiously. It's not a supremely complex MMO, and although it does get regular updates (and can at times be buggy) I mostly played it for the community. It's a F2P but at the same time there's a cash shop, so..... yeah. Lately, though, their CM has been a pain in the ass (and now they don't even have one, apparently) so shit's gone kinda downhill in that regard. A lot of broken promises and crap, things that were gonna happen but never did, etc. (It's the same company that did PWI, though.)
Other MMOs I've tried... I really like Ragnarok Online II, but lately I've been stuck in the WoW craze since Warlords of Draenor came out. I just play casual, though -- I don't do much other than that.

Right now, I only play World of Warcraft: Orclords of Orcnor. When I'm not playing that, I'm playing League of Legends again.
Both are like bad exes. You go back to them, thinking, "Oh, look, something new, maybe you've changed" and then you have a sour taste in your mouth two months later.

Saska I wanted to try Forsaken World but at the time my computer was crap and couldn't handle annnything so I never went back to it once I built my own. I did really want to try it though because at that time PWI was steadily starting to decline (It's hit rock bottom and practically dead now.)
SIFR - I've never tried league of legends or WoW. WoW makes me wanna try it but I'm such a graphics junkie that I'm like ehhh on if I should because I have high standards don'tkillmeplease. But I always wonder if I should abandon it and just give it a try.
GMOT - Vindictusssssss omfg I loved playing Evie but I started it way late, and when I had like zero friends willing to play I gave up /sob

@cheri FW's not bad, their graphics are definitely better than PWI, I'll say that much. FW's kind of downgraded in the same manner as well, mostly because they're sending everybody that's done well on those games over to Neverwinter (or, at least, that's what they did with FW -- although LokisDottir comes to harass us every now and again). GreyjoyKraken's still there, though. Everybody else (crabclaw, loki, etc) all got moved to Neverwinter :c WoW's graphics actually aren't that bad though. Not when you look at them on full mode anyway. I've been running it fullmode and it's got a lot of intricate details (not as much as FW I'll admit, but definitely pretty high). Sadly, Diablo 3 still blows it out of the water, though. ...If you did wanna play FW join up on Storm server though. I might be inclined to come play again.

Saska ohoho I might just be inclined to join that server. I'll definitely have to download it and give it a try again, it was so disappointing on my old computer just lagging to kingdom come no matter how bad the settings were.
And for WoW it's mostly the characters for me, I know they recently upgraded their graphics () to be better than they were. I guess I was just never a fan of how chunky/blocky the characters looked in general though it might be different now.
I've actually never played any Diablo games cause no matter how many friends told me to play I just.. never could quite get into it enough to want to even buy the thing. Maybe all the videos with the awkward angles and just the style for it in general never appealed to me I guess? Maybe I should watch some vids of it on Twitch.

@cheri definitely. I don't play it much myself anymore, but I'm a relatively well-known name across the server (as is my guild name, we're pretty top-tier for a casual guild).
D3 does take some getting used to, though. It's a very different control scheme than an MMO (rather than target + press buttons, it's aim like a shooter, sorta, and click left/right/1-2-3-4 to use your skills) and has a very different feel to it. It's great, though, if you just wanna run around and blow shit up. If you're around in 6 hours I could put up a Twitch stream for you, though! (I'm just at work, so I can't exactly do that right now xD) Same with WoW, I could stream WoW as well since I need to do RaidFinder.
