I've been trying to eat really healthy and organic lately and that makes people look at me funny so now you guys can look at me funny too.
I tend to eat lots of plain greek yogurt and granola and nuts, and I also am a freak who loves to eat fruits and vegetables whenever. For breakfast I tend to eat a smoothie if I feel too lazy to cook, oatmeal, or an omelette. I love omelettes. They're like a science experiment and you can throw anything edible in there. I usually use cheese and a veggie.
In the afternoon I eat oatmeal. For snack I either have what my students have, but I've been buying my own snacks lately and having tea so I don't have the school-provided snack they get cause it's usually something I shouldn't eat.
For dinner I tend to eat whatever my dad makes, which is usually healthy stuff like baked chicken, grilled shrimp, etc. My stepmother and father are health nuts but they're not crazy into organic and weird foods like I am.
I love coconut water and bai5 juice, and I also drink a lot of coffee and tea.
Cooking is also my hobby but my dad doesn't like me cooking meals for the family because cooking is his hobby too. Yesterday I made cinnamon-brown sugar apple pancakes as a treat, the other day I was on my own for dinner and made low-fat pulled pork. I get crazy. I'm also the cooking teacher as well at my school and recently I had the kids make homemade chocolate with little chocolate fondant hearts.
And yesterday was the first time I've had ramen in several years. But the foodie in me made it with the broth, an egg, slices of ham and chopped scallions. I'm weird OTL

I'm asian, so rice.
Lots and lots of rice.
Some mornings, lunch, and dinner. All rice.
And the usual bit of meat, mostly meat, and a bit of vegetables here and there.

i'm kind of a derp and don't eat terribly healthy but my metabolism is (at least atm) off the charts so i don't worry about it as much as i should. as for what i actually eat? i don't really eat one thing over all others, although i've grown fond of tofu and try to have it often. also, mixed nuts: i have two buckets under my bed full of them and they're a relatively good-for-you snack. other than that, primarily vegetables and lemon tea. and chocolate. i'm an unrepentant chocoholic.

i think we're all chocoholics rinne, ngl. and yes kiwii, this is seriously a three page topic. FOOD IS IMPORTANT/COOL/AMAZING/GOOD FOR YOU. and pascaline: how long have you been doing organic? my family and i tried to pull it off a while ago (along with vegan, that shit's hard) and we never got passed a few weeks. |D

JUMPSTART: It's a very slow, slow process. It actually started with my shampoo and conditioner when I found out sulfates were causing me to lose my hair. Not fun. Then I went to milk and eggs (organic eggs just taste better), fruits and vegetables, etc. I'm not fully organic, I'm trying to do it one step at a time, because it's HELLA expensive but if you buy what you truly need to be organic then it's not so bad. Also my organic store, Mrs. Greens, can have some pretty awesome sales so I tend to buy stuff that goes on sale and get more diversity in my diet.
All in all I've been trying to convert, seriously, for 6 months.
Vegan is practically impossible. I know a ton of people who have tried to go vegan and eventually switch to vegetarianism because it's A. expensive and B. super hard.

pascaline: ouch, not the best start to going organic, but i guess it was for the better huh! |D PREACH IT, organic prices are pretty high compared to normal stuff, but then again, it is organic and all, so i makes sense it's higher priced? and, holy shit?! six months, that's a pretty long time! that's has to be a record by itself |DDD going vegan from a meat eater is insanely hard! maybe if i'd been born into an all-vegan household it'd be easier, but not having meat would kill me. plus, my dad's side of the family are all meat-eaters so even if i went vegan, i'd only be half a vegan. i plan to try going vegetarian when i'm older, so i have more freedom with the foods i eat because neither of the houses i'm currently residing in are very vegan/vegetarian-friendly. well, neither are at the moment at least |D

JUMPSTART: I find if you do it step-by-step, ween yourself towards it, then it gets better. Plus not everything I put into my mouth is organic, but I try to make sure the majority of what I eat is at least more or less natural. And I know families who have done it for years. It also helps to know what you should and shouldn't put in your body ingredients-wise. Like cellulose? Yeah, stay away from that. If you can, it's in damn-near everything. I'm trying to avoid food dyes too.
I give mad props to vegans who stay vegan. But I don't know anyone whose actually stayed vegan. It's hard to follow any kind of diet regardless if you don't have support in the household. I once had to go on a doctor-provided low carb diet for my health and I dunno if I would have been able to if I didn't have family support. I tried going vegetarian when I was sixteen and had no support, it was very hard.
