Okay. So now since I got tired of weeping about it, I decided you know what, screw it, I'll just make my own Black Bird site Yes, I've been working on this for a while, don't judge me. (For those of you who aren't familiar with Black Bird, I'll say that it's basically Japanese demons fighting over a girl who can make them immortal if they kill her and can bring prosperity if they marry her, and since I'm going to be giving an explanation of that part of it, you could more or less join with no knowledge of the series and do just fine.)
I'm probs gonna skin it myself unless someone who's better at it wants to, and yeah. I've started, but the number of times I've had to contact skinning tech support (and cried and quit) is not fun and made me entirely open to collab or having someone take it and finish it. I also have no other staff, but to be fair, the site is probs gonna be really laid back and small, so I'd probably only need two or three to cover stuff I can't and bounce ideas off of.
So here's the short of it: - Proboards. - Animanga faceclaims. - 150 WC. - No canons. - Shortish app (probs freeform with the option to add a traditional format back). - Clans based on members, not species (meaning there can be cross-species clans and yeah). - Races (Member Groups) would be Humans, Senka Maidens, Shirohebi (Snake Demons), Tengu (Crow Demons), and Kitsunes (Fox Demons). - Original setting (probably an island somewhere in the Pacific since I have no taste whatsoever). - Site name is "Black Hearts, Black Wings" (and yes, I have a url, so that's not up for debate).

And now here's where I get into the lore I have so far, which is a rough outline (sort of). The Plot: As demons are well aware, there are precious few humans who are able to glimpse their world of myth and magic. This is the way it has been since ancient times, when demons retreated from the affairs of man, only coming forth at the birth of a Senka Maiden, the bride of demon prophecy whose blood has amazing properties of power and healing, whose flesh grants eternal life and youth, and whose hand in marriage creates bountiful fortune for a clan whose leader attains one. Only one Senka Maiden walks the earth at a time, and the powers of a Senka Maiden do not come into effect until the human turns sixteen; thus, it became more common for demons to retreat further and further into the spirit world.
These things were written into the Immortal Fruit Record, an ancient tome whose pages were endless, describing the course of the world. Countless demons and humans had fought over the tome, wishing to possess it and control the path of fate, but it was kept safely out of reach with the divine dragon in the sky, ruler of all demons.
And then, someone destroyed the Immortal Fruit Record.
A large pulse of energy blasted out from the center of Japan, leaving demons and humans alike wincing from the fallout. Demons couldn't make the journey between the spirit world and the human world, stranding countless demons in the human world and isolating them from their peers, forcing them to bond together in new clans based upon mutual benefit and loyalty rather than upon species and honor as they had of old. Sixteen years passed, and then came the shock to the demons left: Senka Maidens were popping up left and right in greater numbers than ever before documented or imagined.
The world of magic and myth are still a mystery to most humans... but for how much longer can the status quo be maintained with so much at stake? The Species: (As a note, I'm not so sure of the powers of each, the manga isn't entirely clear on what each of the species can do in canon, and trying to dig it up without straight up rereading it doesn't work too well) Humans - Normal humans who are (or are not) able to see demons and magic. They can be possessed by minor demons but remain (mostly) unaware of the demons around them.
Senka Maidens - Humans who are, by tradition, called the "Brides of Prophecy" despite the fact that some are male. Their blood is known to give a demon great power and stimulate healing in ill demons while their flesh is able to give a demon eternal youth and beauty; for this reason, many Senka Maidens outside of the protection of a clan are eaten by imps or other lower demons. By the same token, however, a clan leader who marries one will bring prosperity to his/her clan; a Senka Maiden who marries a demon, however, will have their aging process slowed to match that of their demon partner.
Demons (general) - All demons share a certain set of powers amongst themselves. Every demon possesses the ability to heal at a rate two times faster than a human, and they age at half of the rate as well. They are capable of seeing the demon world at all times, as well as performing mild magic spells, usually spoken in the demon tongue (which has been forgotten by humans), though the strength leaves much to be desired outside of the more powerful demon races. Powerful demons (yokai, otherwise known as the tengu, kitsune, and shirohebi) are known to have a natural healing rate at three times that of a human and age at a rate one-third to that of a human, although this can be accelerated if the demon chooses to bind him/herself to a human for a bride. Clan leaders, by contrast, enjoy a healing rate at five times that of a human and age at one-fifth the rate.
Tengu - Demons who are typically associated with crows, mainly because of their dark wings and fondness for crows. When in demon form, a tengu will have a pair of wings that match their hair. Tengu are known for being the protectors of humanity, guarding shrines and protecting from the spirit realm, and as such, they are quite skilled with blades, though their mere presence also tends to deter lower-level demons from going anywhere near them or their designated "territory". Tengu specialize in defensive magic, and often anchor their spells to birds or insects.
Shirohebi - Demons who are typically associated with snakes, not without strong reason since their entire clan is snake demons, versus a mix of species that have become identified with one animal species belonging the dominant clan. When in demon form, a Shirohebi will possess a pair of extendable fangs that secrete a powerful poison that can kill a human within an hour and a demon in a day. Having gained a poor reputation for being agents of evil, most Shirohebi are disliked by others, to the point where they have hidden their true natures among demons as much as possible and instead delved into the realm of herbology; as a result, they also know quite a lot about how to make poultices and herbal mixtures, as well as how to concoct dangerous poisons and other foul potions. Shirohebi, surprisingly, specialize in offensive magic, and often anchor their spells to reptiles or amphibians.
Kitsunes - Demons who are typically associated with foxes, mainly because of their mischievous nature and the fact that the original clan family was made of foxes. Unlike other demons, kitsunes are known for having multiple forms, being shapeshifters who can adopt the appearance of any animal they wish. A kitsune's true "demon" form has a pair of animal ears and a single visible animal tail, the fur usually matching their normal hair color, though they also possess a number of invisible tails that roughly correspond to their magical abilities. The maximum number of tails seen in recent years is five, usually by clan leaders, though it is far more common for three or two tails to be on a kitsune. Kitsune, unsurprisingly, specialize in magic period and can anchor their spells to just about anything they please.

I actually got a staff team together so I'm solid in that. I've loved the series for a while, or at least the concept of it. It was as it went on that I got sadder with it, though I might go back to it now.
I got a lot of the skin done, it's just the very top and the very bottom I got left. But yes. It will be a thing. Eventually.
