okay so basically I was just sitting here.. thinking to myself. wow I really love peppermint mocha from starbucks and all these christmas lights and so on. and this got me thinking what do you guys like/love about the holidays? or what kind of things do you love more during the holidays?
I for one love: mint lipgloss, sweaters, winter collection of nail polishes, hot cocoa or tea, christmas movies, fires, bon fires, christmas lights and trees, 'cuddle buddies' that I never have, holiday cookies and treats, waking up early on christmas morning, getting my mom and brother gifts they like, boots, slippers, fuzzy socks, the fact that I rarely have to shave my legs thanks to pants, when leafs change color, when it gets cold finally, rain, christmas songs, and so on! candy canes, bbqs, hiking on dragon back mountain, lots of rain (but no snow ;A;), holiday discounts, starbucks holiday specials, shopping mall decorations, dad dressing up as santa to impress four younger siblings (around 4-7 years of age, triplets and an adopted sister), and buying little tin boxes for red packets in the new year. |D

Jack in the Box has a seasonal milkshake that I like and it's out usually for thanksgiving to new year, I think. Also plenty of opportunities to get the house to myself. Yeeeaaaah.

peppermint mocha from starbucks
fuck. yes. plz.*ahem* aside from that I have to say I think my favorite thing about this time of year is finishing up finals and coming home for the holidays knowing I'll have a ton of time in my own house, with my cats, with my piano, and with my family and friends. yeah my mom and dad piss me off sometimes but eh I can't really live without them just yet. I love our holiday tradition of decorating the house while listening to christmas tunes ranging from a children's CD I had when I was five to the more majestic Trans-Siberian Orchestra's christmas collection. I like winding down the night with a fire my dad makes in our brick fireplace and watching three christmas movies with my mom, dad, and cats on the couch and falling asleep towards the end of the last one.
let's not forget the cookies either. or hot coco while it's snowing out.
everything I love about this time of year is being home. I don't like going places over the break, though Im getting more tolerant of it, but one thing I still do not like is not actually being in my house for christmas eve and christmas day. something just doesn't sit right with me if I'm not home for christmas and it never has.

Peppermint bark. My school's choir makes them for fundraising and they are heavenly...but rather expensive. And of course not having to go school.
...I'm just so festive

the santa jokes. hands down. my family isn't about to sit back, relax and let jolly ol' saint nick be jolly. when christmas rolls around, we make really bad jokes about him.
mistletoe is awesome because it inspires lots of fanfiction. snow, becauase lfdksadf;jksla canadian. hockey, i only enjoy hockey during the holidays idky. eggnogg, plz. just, dkls;afj that stuff, it's a guilty pleasure now. THE FOOD, ALL OF IT, ALL OF THE FOOD. oh, and the jolly air about EVERYONE. even those douchebags who hate everything.

look, LJ's dead, but I am legit on LJ 99% just because one of my LJ buddies collects addresses there for special xmas cookie deliveries. she makes the best cookies. I have had some serious good cookies, guys, but she is better than your grandma. best. cookies. ever.
otherwise, im a big fan of no school. if you know of any outdoor baths in your area, outdoor spa baths while it's snowing is the absolute best (although getting out of the hot water and into the icy cold is kinda a problem).

Oooh~ I love the holidays!
Well, I am addicted to Peppermint Hot Chocolate. The stuff from Starbucks is the best, but the coffee house on my campus has some pretty good hot cocoa packets of the stuff, which in the long run will be millions of dollars cheaper xD
I like the snow. I'm from a town where we are pretty famous for lots and lots of snow. Like, it is strange if we don't have three to four feet of it at some point. I've only not had a White Christmas once. I love decorating the Christmas tree, and making paper snowflakes and cookies. Ooh and our family Christmas party, because we always make such good food and I'm a glutton o3o
But I also like that it gives me a reason to make presents for my friends. I'm a crafty sort of person, so I like making gifts rather than buying them (it tends to be cheaper in the long run) and then it gives me something fun to do over break. Seeing family, (going to my favorite tea shop in Vermont), the holiday spirit, ahh I love all of it~
I can't wait to go home and bake up a storm ^^ (and well, no school for a month helps~)

The claymation christmas stories they air (or used to air?) on fox. the rugrats christmas/hannukah special. maple sugar candies. lit fireplaces. snow pants. shoveling. snowballing the plows. tunneling snowdrifts. Sledding at night. powdery snow. hard, crusty snow you walk on. gross, salted snow-slush. opening christmas presents under the tree at my dad's, but not really feeling a part of it because my mom's Jewish and i've never gone to church. Picking candlewax out of the menorah. The Maccabees. Chicken soup. The metropolitan museum in NYC. The 'Home Alone' theme. Matzameal pancakes. My mom talking about when she grew up in the Bronx, grandma would make chicken feet and cow brains, and it was a delicacy. Paper snowflakes, @ chamomile. I think I made a billion one year when i was seven or something. Garish geometric 90s Ski Jackets Snow Days. [/size]

My favourite thing about this holiday season is the smell of christmas trees. I love the smell of christmas trees, and its something that I can never get enough of. I also love the smell of ginger and cinnamon so I guess its a good season for me.
Other then that though I love snow, and we don't get enough of it in the UK - so I use Sims 3 to replace this so I can get snow in seasons.
