i didn't really know quite where else to post this and i don't wanna bug pb support about this cause last time i tried to, i never got a reply, and after spending the past hour and a half trying to search and figure this shit out, i'm still helpless. so here i am, on my knees now, begging anyone on the site that knows how to function the FB like/dislike code.
that would be this code right here:
<style type="text/css"><!-- /* Facebook Style Like/Dislike System v1.2 Copyright 12-08-2009 ~Wonder May not be reposted anywhere Place in Global Footer */ .likebg {background-color: #DADADA;} .likebg2 {background-color: #DADADA;} --></style> <script>
//Enter the URL of the image to the thumbs up icon likeimageurl="http://i46.tinypic.com/5x03nt.jpg";
//Enter the URL of the image to the thumbs down icon dislikeimageurl="http://i43.tinypic.com/nqxuzq.png";
//If you want to disable people's ability to like posts, set this to true disableLike=false;
//If you want to disable people's ability to dislike posts, set this to true disableDislike=true;
//If you want to change the word 'Like' to something else, edit these strings. likeText=["Like","Likes","liked this","liked this","Unlike"];
//If you want to change the word 'Dislike' to something else, edit these strings. dislikeText=["Dislike","Dislikes","dislike this","dislikes this","Undislike"];
</script> <script src="http://pblike.appspot.com/static/pblike.js"></script>
and i also added this bit top the very top of my global headers:
<script type="text/javascript"> var pb_forum = "start-a-fire"; </script>
alright, so. the thumbs up image shows up, but nothing happens when i click it. i can see that it is hyperlinked, but i click and... nothing.
if you need to see the site, click the START A FIRE aff in my sig.
all help is very much appreciated~

sup meulk. i don't know why you would put that second code in your header.
try this code out, remove that one you put in. Just stick this one in your global footers and tell me if it works:
<style type="text/css"><!-- /* Facebook Style Like/Dislike System v1.1 Copyright 12-08-2009 ~Wonder May not be reposted anywhere Place in Global Footer */ .likebg {background-color: #000000;} .likebg2 {background-color: #FFFFFF;} --></style> <script>
//Enter the URL of the image to the thumbs up icon likeimageurl="http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/2861/like.gif";
//Enter the URL of the image to the thumbs down icon dislikeimageurl="http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/3115/dislike.gif";
//If you want to disable people's ability to like posts, set this to true disableLike=false;
//If you want to disable people's ability to dislike posts, set this to true disableDislike=true;
</script> <script src="http://pblike.appspot.com/static/pblike.js"></script>
edit: I do say try it without the second code because I had no problems with the code like that at phantas and my test site (for one extra check of the code). It's working fine at both, so I can't really understand the hitch if there still would be one.
The only other thing could be something about your skin is blocking it, but im just an amateur really when it comes to this fancy stuff.

The second code has typically been necessary ever since proboards added freeforums and boards urls, because after that, the code had a hard time identifying exactly which subdomain it was dealing with. Idk if that's been fixed since then, but that's what the second bit's for.
As electric says though, try it without the extra strings for changing the like/dislike text? The bug you're describing sounds like what usually happens if you're missing that second code, but since you have it... I'm not sure what's up, man.
Does the script work at all with the default settings? (ie, copied straight from original, with dislikes on and etc)

So I've removed the second code and replaced my FB code with electric's. Unfortunately it didn't work.
And I have tried just the default one. Yep, I am mind blown. I can only guess that some other code is conflicting with it, but I don't know which, or that this code just hates me and I suck :c

hmmm, i guess the only thing is are you sure it isn't caught in andy divs that might be wrapping the board or any already opened <style> tags? the best place to avoid putting it in the middle of something would be the very bottom of your footers because sometimes divs that wrap the boards close at the very top of the global footers.
