i just wanted to tell you guys about my experience at my first con ever. apparently my friends couldn't care less about how i fangirled and squealed repeatedly... but that's what you guys are for, right?
just in case you're wondering, it was so fucking awesome. i went as meiko's matryoshka, with my friend as brs. she invited me on such short notice that i didn't have the chance to stitch up an ace outfit or order something online, so i sifted through my clothes and found a red track jacket and went as meiko. it's silly because meiko is my least favorite vocaloid. fionna from at was my first cosplay choice (since i went trick-or-treating as her for halloween), but my mum protested that it was "not anime," which is completely true, but stiiiiill... the fanart... so basically, my cosplay was utter crap.
it was a pretty awkward time for me, because my shyness prevented me from approaching someone and asking to take a picture of them. basically, i screamed when i saw sebastian and grell, and was too chicken to ask them to do a sexy pose for me. i followed them around for a while and took a picture of them from behind. they left at the same time i did, so i took another picture of them walking to their car. nice, huh?
i saw tobi from naruto there, and he was so cute... he looked like a woman at first (since the mask was on and he had such skinny legs). i later took a picture of him while he was sitting all sad on a bench without the mask. i thought he was just cosplaying as an akatsuki, but when i looked back through the pics, i saw his mask... and his babyface, which i wanted to squeeze. i so kiba there as well and he was SO HOT. seriously.
i'm getting to the best part now, guys! i saw fucking flame prince there. you guys know how much of an adventure time fan i am, right? i told my mum i should have been fionna the human, so i can huggle his guts right out. his cosplay was right on target and he was pretty cute, too (i know, i'm such a weirdo). it was real scary for me, since i shouted, "flame prince!" by instinct when i saw him walking by, not expecting him to hear... but he DID.
then he fucking turned around. you know what he did next? he smiled cutely and bowed down to me (because i am a short munchkin). i am a queen, guys. i am a queen. so yup. ;)

I'm glad you had a great time! I only go to cons for the cosplay and I know how exciting it can be to see your favourites, especially when they're really well done c: Just uh some advice for the future though? Always, always ask before you take a photo of someone. If you're too shy, usually a group will stop to let other people take photos and you can snap then, but you really shouldn't just be taking photos of people who are unaware.

I love going to anime cons. I went to my first one when I was in high-school and it made me so very excited, now I go and just enjoy the atmosphere and the picto-chat during ceremonies. It's fun to be able to use your DSes in those situations. We're a bit crazy here in Australia because we don't have as many cons as we'd like, but we're getting more into pop culture all the time.
I'm glad you had fun, it's always nice to hear people having good experiences. I know a few who cosplayed their first time and were overwhelmed by the amount of people asking for photos and other things and were too scared to go back. xP

@iona thanks for the advice. (: i know it's wrong to snap pics of people who are unaware of me doing so... i just wished my damned timidness would shoo! the ones i took were just to show my mum, who wanted to see what anime-con was like, though... but i'm definitely going to ask people for pictures at my next con. i was longing to socialize with people from the same fandoms as me, but my crappy cosplay, shyness, and anxiety prevented me from doing so.
@milachan sounds fun!
oh, i'm surely going to go back... and with a much better cosplay that doesn't me feel like an ugly little duckling. c: sadly, i don't think anybody recognized me - that's how much of a fail i was, haha.

It does get easier over time. The first time it's like 'AHHH' and then everyone is like 'omg you're cosplaying please photos' and you realise that you can ask the same thing. xD it's such a good feeling in the end and I'm glad you had a good experience <3
