at the end of the day, i got a 3ds XL, animal crossing: new leaf and professor layton and the miracle mask.
i'm actually aware of the promo because a friend told me about it. gdi it was really, really tempting but yyyyeah. i might look into those indie games, but i'm really broke right now and -- i'm saving up for ffx and ffx-2 for the vita at the end of the year. i preordered pkmn Y as well, so that's a lot of money.
i just blew whatever i had left on steam sales, too. i don't think i'll be able to get more games in the near future.
whatever the case, it's unlikely that i'll get into game series like fire emblem, or zelda, despite the fact that i enjoy tactical stuff and rpgs and hell, even stuff like harvest moon. (never tried out rune factory; heard it was like harvest moon + monsters, though.)
thanks for all the help, guys! i've got this tabbed just in case i wanna get some extra games somewhere down the line. i'm waiting for ace attorney and more layton games. considering saving up for a jp 3ds LL too -- just for that goddamned layton vs gyakuten saiban lol.
i'll see you all on animal crossing, next week. o/

Fire Emblem is hands down the best game for the 3DS, coming from somebody who owns Theatrhythm, AC:NL and HM:NB among others. I myself have an XL and there are 0 resolution issues. If anything, everything looks better- go big or go home right. The Mii Plaza is also super fun, it gets addicting collecting little puzzle pieces from randoms . u .
Anywho I clocked over 100 hours in Fire Emblem over two saves (and counting), bought a handful of the DLCs and thoroughly enjoy min-maxing everything, or just playing with pairings and support conversations. The game itself has a lot of replay value if you're a die-hard optimizer or completionist like myself. Animal Crossing is better compared to Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, as both games have you as mayor doing things that are mundane in real life and suddenly become much more exciting. As much as I love Animal Crossing, it can get stale, and my problem with HM is that it simply doesn't play smoothly and the UI feels aged compared to most other games you could play. It's still through and through an HM game though, and fun if you can look past the technical deficiencies. Probably it's more meaty on actual gameplay and story than Animal Crossing. Like others said, AC transforms when you have friends visiting with you and you're able to talk about your towns and joke and sabotage each other.
Theatrhythm is definitely a worthy side-purchase, but as a main game you wouldn't be able to live on it.
Shin Megami Tenshi, you should definitely look into. In fact, Nintendo is giving away $30 credit if you register (buy) both the MegaTen and Fire Emblem to your 3DS (in NA region at least), which would be useful for pretty much anything, from DLc to moar gaems huehue
edit; lol you bought everything already /dies

nope, it's all cool. o/
i've been looking into side-games myself, at the risk of further damaging my wallet's health points -- i downloaded the demo for thearhythm, and it seems ... fun? not something i'd want to do on a daily basis, though, so i'm definitely gunna look into fire emblem lol.
