Are OOC accounts convenient or useless? I know it might be harder to implement in PB as it only adds another account to log in too, but Jcink's switch account system makes it easy. Still, I haven't actually seen a site implement it. Think it's a nifty thing to have? I did it once for a site of mine and I think the members generally like it because part of it comes with your ability to view certain forums. So if you're in your IC account, you can't view OOC boards or post in the shoutbox which makes being distracted less likely. We were a small group though so I don't know if it might become a bad idea for a big group.

i abuse these so much on jcink, especially with the new ability to change the originally poster of a post. So even if you accidentally post with the wrong account, you can just hit edit and switch the original poster to any of your subaccounts. I've been using this since.... idk. 6 or 7 years ago? But I've pushed it more recently because of the jcink subaccounts.

I've always had OOC accounts on my games. Makes things less messy to me.

I love having an ooc account, tbh its one of my fave parts of being a mod.
I like to make it crystal clear that I and my characters are different entities with different viewpoints/etc.
They would also be good if your rp had like a freeform board where you could play characters that aren't app'd

The OOC account on jcink is better because it is used for OOC discussions, and it helps gathering awards and points which are player-related, while keeping the awards and points which are character related too.
