I hope this is in the right sub-forum, but I'm a bit curious. I noticed that a lot of my friends' threads consist mostly of romance plots. Mine, on the other hand, are mostly other types of plots like family, friendships, hate, etc etc. For me personally, those plots are really fulfilling in their own way. Of course, I love romance plots too, but I'm horrible at asking people if they'd like to do that, so... OTL But what about you guys? What type of plot do most of your threads consist of? And if it's only one type, are you open to trying different plots?

I don't really have romance threads lol. Most of the sites I join in are action or fantasy-oriented. My threads don't always involve action or a battle sequence, but I do like running a plot like that for a change. In general, my threads are...usually an event that results to conflict (my char attacking someone by accident) or is the reason behind the counter (my char rescuing someone). There's either always a purpose in my thread (ie. not an accidental meeting) or it's something for the fun.
I think it would be easier to explain what sort of plots I don't usually engage in. I don't like doing random threads unless it's comical. Family would be great if my chars actually have family members played by other people. Friendship is staple.
There are probably other kind of plots I don't do but I'm generally open as long it's not forced and it makes sense. I don't have a favorite type of plot either as it depends on my characters, but from what I had, I greatly enjoy plots that revolve around an intelligent exchange, be it about ideals or their past. This is generally a serious thread with a slight drama or tension mixed in it. I only enjoy these plots when the writing is done well though. I've read some people try to force poetry in their writing style to create an impact, rather than just being smart in how they phrase and use their words.
And yeah, really love comedic plots too. Probably the majority I actually do are comedic.

I enjoy friendship & hateship plots because this way I won't have to worry about my character's love life that's nonexistent.

Hmmm...mos of my threads twirl around the shadowy contours of angst and tragedy. I love making my characters cry...be in great emotional pain and all that heavy drama jazz. I have no qualms with killing my characters as long as that plot will leave me breathless with it's epicness. I'm a sucker for romantic tragedies...really... i should fix this problem and go back to the cheerful happy sunshiney rainbow stuff orz

I don't necessarily gravitate towards a particular type of thread. Most of my characters' relationships tend to be varied, but I've noticed some reoccurring trends in my thread, especially among genders. 95% of my males end up in at least one romance plot and 95% of my females have some sort of hateship going on with at least one other character. OTL Aside from that, I tend to have a lot of rivalry plots.

My plots are varied, but it depends from a character to another. My seafaring characters have mostly working scenes, battle scenes, tavern scenes, friendship, enemies, sometimes love interests or flirts. My tavern maids have friendships, lovers, work scenes, parties, but also daily scenes in the market or so. My mercenary has missions to accomplish, friendship, love and affair scenes, parties, but also tragical scenes, religious pilgrimages, philosophical discussions...

Plots? I wanna do some romance, but usually I am stuck with friendship plots. specific plots. Hm, my characters tend to be runaways and that stuff. Or have amnesia or something cliche. ; Yeah..I try to imaginative, but sadly I tend to not be.

Varied honestly. I try to spice up different things, even when I ship. I have all kinds of plots from mystery-who-did-it to romance/angst. It's better to have as many plots as you can so you can have all the food and all the fun.
