As mentioned above, I want to play at an animanga site that's either set in a historical setting (preferably Edwardian/Victorian/1930's, etc) or a futuristic setting (dark and grungy city, maybe like in Psycho-Pass?). I'd prefer if the community consisted of mostly older players (late teens and up).

Not to be a bubble buster, but you will not find any site that is hosted on invisionfree, jcink, zetaboards, or proboards that is NC-17 or Mature. No matter what anyone says about Jcink, they do not allow content above PG-13. Labeling your site as anything above PG-13 does not mean your site will be deleted, but if anything is roleplayed above PG-13, they will ask for you to delete the content and potentially delete your site. The same goes for proboards, except they don't allow anything advertised to be above PG-13.

Best of luck with your search, however - I know many role plays now self host.

(Sighs.) While I didn't mention the type or host of board I was looking for (like the ones you've mentioned), it merely slipped my mind. I guess what I should have said is that I want to play on an "older crowd" site. .__. I'll correct that.

That's okay. Now that you've mentioned an older crowd ... I'm going to casually recommend blood red, snow white. I'm a moderator there (I'm also Levi there). BRSW was originally created in February 2009 and recently came back in July 2013 after being shut down for quite some time. All of our members are 18+, the majority being in the 20-24 range (I'm the outlier, only 18). BRSW takes place in the future (2067) and is slightly post-apocalyptic. It takes place in a futuristic/dystopian Russia where humans cohabitate with angels, demons, nephilim (half human/half demon or angel), ghosts, and experiments.

Chapter 1 was the failed angelic rule of Earth, Chapter 2 was the failed demonic regime where humans hid underground, and now we're in Chapter 3. Currently, the plot is that two human beings called The Celestials have taken over Russia and have built walls, splitting it into three areas; State of Day, State of Night, and Moscow (which is the poorest of all areas).

BRSW is set in the future but does not have a ton of technology; basic iPods and what not. The role play is considered dark, however - character death is part of the role play. If you have any questions or want to know more information, you can PM me or poke in the cbox there.
