What's your favorite type of setting? Medieval, victorian, Space, Modern, future, combination, etc?
What do you enjoy about this type of setting?

Medieval is always going to have a special place in my heart. It feels pretty natural to me, like a standard "fun pretendy times adventure drama" setting, though by now I've branched out to really hankering for settings that actually include some kind of breadth. Extensive trade was going on with Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East back then so any kind of inclusion of that is A++++ droolworthy. Or even just old timey RPs like Zellij Stars that are straight up set in a Non-European location are very near and dear to my heart.
I've been at BRSW for a while now and it's got a mix of dystopian, classic post-apoc, and "recently recovered and rebuilt from post-apoc" blend for its setting that I never expected to enjoy this much but disparities make for amazing RP beyond your standard desperate post-apoc flopping around trying to survive. Culture shock from encountering modern conveniences for the first time, etc.
Modern slice-of-life is actually the hardest for me to try to get into. I need for there to be something else to it, like Seadra's travelers RP site was really fun because of the nomadic component built in, or things like gang warfare, occult street magic, w/e that's not exactly like what I'm living right now.

Large scale with awesome in-depth lore with certain mystical elements. ie ASOIAF which I guess is medieval on the other hand, how well other rpers' posts fit said setting can also raise/lower my liking for it since I am a major stickler for details...and that usually works out better for more modern settings so basically an in-depth world where everything is equally consistent

If it's a Shrek kinda thing, sure, whatever, but if not it just takes me out of the setting entirely. Also vaguely related in an OOC mechanic way, but I was so amused when I actually read ASOIAF and found out that Tyroshis and at least one of the Manderly girls over in Westeros dye their hair outrageous colors like pink and green.

Modern fantasy is my automatic go-to. Whether it be superpowers, alien tech, zombies or magic, some element of fantasy combined with the modern day makes me very happy.
Maybe it's a psychological need to escape reality?
I dunno but don't you judge me.
EDIT: Medieval/sword and board and spell fantasy is a close second.

I'll try anything once, but I've found I have the most fun with sci-fi (I remember a site that meg made once, with aliens and things. It was really fun) and fantasy. I'll dabble in the occasional high school/romance setting but typically I like there to be some sort of fantasy element to it.

I would sooner have historical settings with fantastical elements somehow ingrained. Those who share ideals such as mine are scant, yet they do thankfully exist. The Medieval era is concretely my pick, but three years worth of scrupulous personal research on the early Baroque has driven me to quest for sites where the results can be most simply translated.

modern fantasy tbh. something like the marvel cinematic universe or supernatural or the vampire diaries. hell, i'd even roleplay in a setting like the one in fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood, which is (i believe) pre- and during WW1. victorian fantasy too, like d.gray-man. i'm really bad at describing settings which is why i'm adding examples as well...lol...
but yeah, modern fantasy is my favourite. definitely. however, i really enjoy the mcu because of yggdrasil and the nine realms. like, you've got midgard/earth, and asgard, and hOLY MFSDGSKDL ASGARD IS LIKE MY FAVOURITE SETTING EVER.
i also really really like the medieval fantasy setting... like asoiaf and final fantasy xii. that sort of thing. anything with the idea of magitech too is amazing. like FF12. they have airships!!! AIRSHIPS!!!
i'm also a sucker for high schools i'm not even kidding tbh.
legit though, the setting that's key to my heart is, as i said, modern fantasy/sci-fi (mcu be like, MAGIC IS JUST SCIENCE WE DON'T UNDERSTAND YET and i love that so much). i'm not really much of a futuristic person tbh. the most futuristic i'd go in an rp is something like the setting of FF13. it's close to modern. sO YEAH.
but if you really want to win my heart, give me a universe in which i can travel to different worlds... let me go between our earth, to a new world in a setting that's something akin to the medieval - victorian time periods, to a world where magic is what's used to do everything.
