The topic for the paper is THE DEPICTION OF HOMOSEXUAL MALES IN ANIME AND MANGA.

animanga community, generally consisting of the females, basically, they even have a name for these people. 'fujoshis' i think, is what they're called. oreimo was very informative, k i think basically people including me find it really attractive and hot and that. uhhh but of course, yaoi manga can be really really exaggerated and wrong, for example, showing that rape is okay because the uke likes it - of course that would be generally unacceptable outside yaoi land but it's kinda common practice in yaoi land k wtf am i talking about
do you want me to go on? i think i know a bit more but of course my english sucks and what is grammar, what is grammar

Isn't that a bit too broad of a subject? I mean, if you're writing a formal paper, you need to be specific on what you'll analyze. For one, when is it? Do you want to analyze the depiction of homosexual males in anime/manga during the 90's? The 21st century? Or both of them so you can compare and contrast, draw a conclusion based from your observation. Since this is also about anime/manga, this also means you'll have to include information on Japanese culture, then later on spread out because the anime/manga exposure isn't limited to Japanese and is one of the popular genres out there.
There are a lot of controversies regarding yaoi due to content that's borderline pornography as well as depiction of rape that's "accepted." But had it always been like this? Who was the first homosexual anime/manga character? And there's also art style to consider. Are they depicted to be realistic and manly or effeminate? And what was the reaction to this?
It's not all about describing homosexual males per se. You'll have to do some research to find out why such depiction has occurred and evolved and why. Why did homosexual males in anime/manga become a rather erotic icon? I think that's how they're depicted these days.
edit: and why is it that homosexual males are associated with the yaoi genre almost instantly? Can't a homosexual male be the protagonist of a different genre?

...Er, it only being five pages, I don't know what to tell you man. I'm not sure what you can say with that sort of space, so just keep writing and you'll finish eventually. I'd suggest narrowing it down to a specific subgenre of anime or at least narrowing it down somehow. It's actually easier to write on a specific topic rather than a broad one.
Get a decent thesis (ie, what's the point you want to make?) then find info to support it. You probably want at least two case studies to throw in at the end, so find at least two series that you can talk about for a good page or two at least.
But yeah, seems to me you can stick with a very classic structure: introduce your paper and make your thesis, support thesis with say three points, present case studies that illustrate thesis, expand on contemporary relevance of thesis. Conclude. If you can't easily hit 5pgs (or 10 double spaced), you really need a better topic. Imo, you're going to have trouble keeping it to only 5pgs.

hmm, maybe talk about the character archetypes of uke and seme? and the different styles like bara, guro, etc. i mean, there's a lot of yaoi terminology that people won't understand so you could probably take a chunk of the paper actually explaining what it is. and i think the controversy of yaoi being pronz is a good topic to bring up as well. i actually saw something about this somewhere else on the internet and their whole paper was just about the dynamic of shizaya and how they've gone down in yaoi history as the classic pairing and further did a psychoanalysis of why people find them such a great hateship. i think five pages single spaced is a lot of room to explore many of the aspects of yaoi, but perhaps you could create a narrowed focus about why the animanga audience feels so attracted to homosexuality in manga, regardless of their own sexuality, and talk about if it's detachment from reality is something to be accepted in youth society or be a concern. i 'm personally all for yaoi fck society like, why some people find rape morally wrong in reality, but find it okay (if not even attractive) in illustrations.
maybe you could even research about the differences in the reactions in the nation of japan itself and outside countries. and how most of the relationships are not a realistic portrayal. or maybe even talk about how a lot of yaoi mangakas are women appealing to a female audience.
idk i hope i helped but i have a feeling that advice was vague and just repeating what other people said. i'm just throwing ideas out sorry, it sounded solid in my head ;n;

If you need to talk more about the culture then perhaps look at the audience itself, yaoi mainly appeals to women in the way men are stereotypically drawn to lesbians. Interestingly it is not aimed at men and is written by females almost entirely, bara, manga aimed at gay men is in fact a different genre.
The culture is fairly large as it appeals to the female ideal, in the eyes of most women men are sexually attractive, the fantasy of two to some simply is the case of 'more is better'. Yaoi men definitely differ from their real life counterparts, further showing yaoi is just a depiction of what ladies dream, sweet tender men with emotions intune with women. Yaoi is storywise similar to ordinary shojo unless erotic in nature.
It might be worth noting it was originally a smallish doujinshi community, perhaps even a 'fetish' community. You can see a lot of fetish appeal in the stories themselves, such as seme and uke...a dominant partner and passive counterpart rather than two equals in the general homosexual relationship. This comes from the idea of dominance and submission, a fantasy that appeals to many women in private. Even rape is not depicted as a crime, instead a ray the seme expresses his uncontrollable love and aggressive nature...despite the fact rape is a terrible thing it is common in erotic yaoi.
