While I would love to toss Reach your way, it's not hitting all the points you're looking for though please do feel free to check it out in my sig if you want something a little lighter activity-wise with a low word count, so instead, I'll have to toss CCR instead.
CCR is pretty active, no word count, freeform app, friendly staff, welcoming community... We're also a modern fantasy site with open lore, so even if you don't like vamps and whatnot, you can make your own species or adapt from existing ones. We have kelpies, krackens, sirens, and a few ghostly species already, so yeah. But I mean, like I said, it's open-lore, so you can pretty much make just about whatever you want as long as it's not a god since that's just OP, y'know?
Anyway. Here's the ad, so feel free to take a look around!

Yooo! Still looking for a site. I'll elaborate here: What I would love to see: - No app or free-form app (nice and easy, laid-back). I've been in a real rut with profiles lately and all I want to do is plaaayyy.
- After life or pre-birth (like After School Nightmare), Loveless, or some other pairing genre (like familiars?).
- A friendly community, preferably within the Proboards (and kin) realm, with committed staff (so no closures after 1-6 months of opening for me, please).
What I don't want to see:- Word counts
- Certain character restrictions (e.g. "no males," "no homosexuals," et cetera)
- Tolkien Fantasy or Bram Supernatural (vampires, dragons, elves, o' my), comic book super humans (X-Men, DC/Marvel), steampunk, Medieval
